I personally have seen interviews where fighters like Mayweather and Winky both have stuttered when asked about fighting Margarito, Winky just plain didn't want to ansewer the question, Mayweather at least said, "someday."

No way man. Those right hand counters Bernard were landing were pretty solid. The only real pitty patty Bernard threw was his jab, which wasn't effective at all. His jab's never been that good though except as a distraction to set up the right hand.

He clinched to shut down Winky's offfense. And then when he would let go he'd throw bigger shots that would land. Winky's pressure was good in the beginning, but since he got that cut he became deadass tired and just lost the fight. He didn't dominate him, but he beat him pretty soundly for beating someone for such a great defense.

its a fact Winky landed more and was more accurate...and if anyone was throwing pitter patter that night it was hopkins......i can see how he could steal the rounds for some people.....but no way did he dominate or even beat winky.....and if anyone was countering it was winky...hopkins was running, then when he saw the chance lunged forward to clinch, and then started to work there(mostly hitting arms and crotch/legs....)

i forgot to add winky was countering hopkins when hopkins tried to clinch...if you see the fight with attention, you can see usually the most clea punches of teh bout where winky's 1-2's when hopkins lunged forward to clinch......

Winky's one twos weren't that effective. I mean his jab, which is his greatest asset, wasn't even a factor that much.

Also, those were just total shots combined. IIRC, Hopkins landed more powershots on copybox.

That and if you go by the 4 scoring critera's most rounds you had Bhop for Ring Generalship, Defense (Clinching I guess would be considered this because he shut down most of Wink's offesne), and Clean punching (Counters and hard right hands by Bernard).

The only thing he really didn't get was effective agression because Winky was the agressor. He just wasn't effective enough. I mean you can tell by the end of the fight. Hopkins wasn't even that tired, while Winky was exhausted.

Winky's still a great fighter, I just think (well that and most other people) he lost to Bernard.

I think your favortisim, leads to you having Winky winning.Though I can't blame you on that much if he's your favorite fighter. Since Bernard is mine haha (which might have come into effect when scoring the Taylor bouts, in which I had Bernard winning by a little. Though it was close).

But still, I had it 116-112 for Bernard and think they made the Wright (bad puns ftw) choice.

i dont ahve a problem with people having bernard winning....its just the fact that they have him winning for the wrong reasons....he dint land effective **** never ever...his power shot numbers were because when they were clinching he fired a lot of hooks inside....most of them blocked...

i can see bernard winning on the basis that he was a lot showier than Winky....but he wasnt effective at all...hell you can see it in his face at the end of the fight he knew it was a close fight, even admited so when larry aked him...it was till the post fight conference that he started raving about how he took winky's jab(even though it was the single most landed punch of the bout).......so like im saying if people think: oh well hopkins was a lot showier(kinda like dlh in most of his fights)so he couldve gotten that decision, then im fine with it...but i have a problem with people who think hopkins was effective with punches.....because if thats the case i, having watched the fight with a lot of caution, can tell it was not the case if someone had him winning because of that then they see the wrong things in fights...IMO....
