for mine as well. I've always been a big believer in the Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya career path.

Arce getting schooled in the fashion he did was suprising, but that one punch from Donaire made his even more suprising. I mean going into that fight I could see somebody outboxing Darchinyan, but KOing him I didn't think could happen. Maybe because I bought into the invincibility of Vic, but it was still a suprise. I mean he knocked him senseless and derailed the Darchinyan train.

i like warriors, and though arce is one, he gets hit tooooo much for my liking, almost no defense. so i know a more schooled fighter will own him soon and wouldn't be surprised.

I voted for "Mijares soundly outboxing Arce" The Darchinyan fight was surprising too but this is boxing and anyone can get caught by a punch like that & go down. Now Mijares beating up on Arce the way he did and at times had Arce looking as if he would go down was more surprising to me.

if you watch it again, donaire was constantly staggering vic w/ counter left hooks, it was just a matter of time that vic will get caught flush and go down. so it's really not a lucky punch. donaire was schooling vic since round1

I have to go with Arce, because in his prior fights he seemed to totally dominate his opponents enroute to a knockout or sound victory.

For me its Arce. After the first round I knew Vic was done. It was only a matter of time for the KO so I wasnt too suprised by it.

the way i see it as well. I actually picked Nonito to win - both verbally and financially, but I thought for sure it would be similar to Mijares-Arce. I never expected Donaire to drop Vic, much less knock him out - and inside of five rounds at that. That was the one area where I lost out, as I put some coin on the fight lasting longer than 9.5.

Mijares has been slept on for a minute, and Arce was vastly overrated, carefully matched through three divisions AND deteriorating skill-wise. That one didn't shock me at all.

Oddswise, Nonito going in at +700 was ridiculous.

Nonito Knocking out vic was an even bigger shocker, I or probably noone here was expecting that for vic to get k.o'd.......

I guess it was Arce-Mijares, given that few of us knew anything of Mijares. Arce came in with a long winning streak and intimidated everyone he faced, that was until he faced a real guy in Mijares.

I thought Donaire had the talent to do what he did against Darchinyan, I just couldn't fathom him coming as confidently as he did. That was the surprise.
