    Canada Hoe is a ******* and a top-runner!

    Eye injurys are serious...SRL

    Inactivity is serious...Quartey

Taking a 12 beating in a war takes alot out of you...Gatti...Ward...etc...etc..

A friend of mine got Wards autograph @ Mohegan Sun and he said Ward had to think how to spell his name for a second.

These are all valid points...if Brewster had KO'd or even beat Sergei, this wouldnt even be a thread topic.

Brewster is the Best American Heavyweight

According to Ring Magazine rankings, Lamon Brewster is the top American heavyweight right now. He ranks #8 overall...

      Pretty accurate assessment, I think...

I agree; says a LOT about the lack of depth that a guy with losses to Ettiene, Shufford and Liakhovich can take a year plus off and still be top ten.

Other than fatigue, I think the confidence of Wlad (at that time) played a part in his knockout at the hands of Brewster.

Lamon was still standing after Wlad's big shots, he hit a temporary wall (like in the Sam Peter fight) but his confidence (still in rebuilding mode) didn't allow him to carry on.

Wlad's fully confident tonight. He's going to take his time. And he's going to knock out Lamon Brewster.

I'm a fan of both and would love to see Lamon pull it out again. But it won't happen.

            2) Brewster was paid to take a dive

truth: Lamon is an honorable man - a good, Christian man who wouldn't take a dive

            3) Brewster has an eye injury

truth: according to himself, Lamon's eye injury was completely healed months ago! Brewster says he's 100% healthy and his doctor agrees...

            4) Brewster is past his prime

truth: Brewster is younger than many top ranked heavyweights, and 11 years younger than Holyfield and five years younger than Maskaev. He's only a couple of years older than Wlad...

            5) The fight with Lyakhovich finished Brewster

truth: Lyakhovich doesn't hit nearly as hard as Wlad (only 13 KOs), he's the Malignaggi of the heavyweight division (jab and back up style) and is incapable of doing permanent damage to anyone. Most heavyweights have been hit for 12 rounds by much stronger heavyweights than Serguei - for example, Wlad in his battle with the powerful Sam Peter...

            6) Brewster was suffering from ring rust because he was off for a year.

truth: Lyakhovich was off for longer, a year and a half, before fighting Brewster! Brewster says he's had some top sparring partners and is as well prepared as he can be... if wish the Wlad haters would have as much class as Lamon and not make excuses...

The truth that people don't want to accept is: Wladimir Klitschko is a top level heavyweight!

it wont be anything knew. we've already gone through it 48 times,,,lol

That said, who else was Klit gonna' fight? I wrote in depth about what this fight means as a win this week for Wlad; he still needs the winner of Chagaev-Ibragimov to seal the deal and end debate.
naaa,,,having that time off was a plus for brew being he's a veteran. his eye was repaired. it wont be a problem. serge had an even bigger layoff when he took brews title. brew took punishment even before he fought wlad. he's always going to be the same fighter. power and heart but not much else

If Wlad looks impressive in winning against Brewster, then it should be a given that respect should be given to him.

People have a tendency to discredit Wlad calling him glass-chinned and having a weak stamina and all.

But it's also a fact that Wlad have a pretty good resume. If Wlad wins in impressive fashion then respect should be given.

There's lots of depth in the heavyweight division, with young fighters like Platov, Povetkin, Solis, *****ko, Arreola and Boystov moving up. After the coming loss, Ring Magazine will drop Brewster out of the top ten I think...

However, to say Brewster is perhaps not so good is a honest statement and respectable opinion. He did lose to two journeymen - and even among journeymen, Shufford is mediocre. Malik Scott just beat him in his last fight...

But going on about last year's eye injury which has long since healed and is not relevant to this fight is just making an excuse for Brewster. Saying Brewster has not recovered from his fight with the skillful but light hitting Lyakhovich is like saying N'Dou is permanently damaged from his fight with Malignaggi!

It's not JUST the Liakhovich fight when people talk punishment. Brewster got BEAT ON in Ettienne (a favorite fight of mine and total lost classic), Meehan, Klit I, Krasniqui AND Liakhovich. That's a lot of punishment bro; Klit's losses and even tight wins haven't been as physically exacting.

Put it this way, anytime there's a big fight, there are many ways to discredit the winner. Nothing is perfect, you can pick apart just about any fight. Just be happy when Wladimir wins the UD.
