I am a Lewis fan, and I hate it when people come and say "He was going to lose! He was behind on the cards!" But it was still a tremendous fight, and Vitali showed great heart and I was a believer after this fight in him, even if I still think it was a clean win for Lennox (it was a punch, not the glove!, lol) Lennox won me over in similar fashion after the first Holyfield fight...though he really won that fight...can we all agree on that?
Of course LL won the first fight with Evander, I had 200 hundy on Holy by KO absolutely convinced he was going to stop what I precieved to be a china chin brit.

I was drinking Natural Ice and by about the 8th or 9th I realized there would be no KO and that I was going to lose.

Whe the draw was read I was so drunk and distraught that I had completely forgotten that I had put 20 bucks on the draw at 20-1.

Of course Lewis won that fight but that was one great ****in draw!

you get more credit (from me anyways) if you lose and look good (like vitali in the lewis fight and brewster in the lyko fight) than if you win and look like **** (like john the bum ruiz).

As long as boxer fights hard and does their best then I absolutely have respect for their effort. Plus, I have a lot of respect anyway for any warrior that puts everything on the line by stepping into the ring.

A fighter giving a good account of himself means more than anything, in most cases it will result in a win but not always.

a fighter can only do his best to win as long as they do that fair play win lose or draw

I give a fighter credit after a loss if he put on a good performance. If a fighter gets humiliated then i'll give him props for taking the fight but nothing more than that.

Yeah I give them credit, especially if they fought their hearts out. Sometimes you can try your hardest, but it's just not enough. For me I've got to respect a guy who gives his best effort. Really in any sport that's the least you can do.

A lot of you are looking at this the wrong way and therefore getting too defensive about it. Of course they deserve respect for stepping into the ring, but a loss is never as good as a win and never helps your career unless you slug it out til the end and make people want to see you again. Close only counts in horseshoes, and I doubt any of us play that.
