In my time as a fan it was probably Mark Breland, if how their measured against expectation is taken into consideration.

No way is Lewis overated.
Imo he's up there among the top 5 heavyeweights of all time.
Hamed had great talent and his reflexes were second to none until he changed trainers and tried a more defencesive style. He still over hyped himself though with all the crap that came out of his mouth.
Mayweather is the most over rated fighter.Comment

I second this one. The hype around Mark Breland was unbelievable. He won 2 titles, but I don't think it would of matter how many he would of won. He would of never lived up to the hype. He was hyped that much.Originally posted by Sharkey View PostComment

Hamed was out of love with the game by the time he faced MAB. That fight was him at 60% of what he was capable of. Watch the documentary of his training camp for the fight.

Hamed over hyped himself, he was different and mouthy so he sold tickets and claimed fame, no-one can honestly say he didn't have talent and great power after all his only defeat came against one of the all time greats IMO.
What ruined his legacy was the way he just couldn't really get over the fact he was beaten unlike a true great who would attempt to avenge their defeats.
Mayweather isn't over hyped IMO, across the water here he's not really known off which is a shame as he is undoubtedly the most talented fighter of recent years.
As for Lennox Lewis, cannot agree, OK he lost to two one punch KO's but he came back and avenged those defeats. Other greats have lost yet have not avenged defeats, Foreman lost to Ali (KO) then Jimmy Young (Pts) then retired for 10 years.
Patterson, Louis, Tyson, Holyfield, Ali and even Dempsey etc all lost fights against lesser fighters so....
Gerry Cooney, wins against Lyle, Young and Norton propelled his hype. He was a decent heavyweight in a good era so....Comment
