now you have to agree that better than mayweather amature record
Not a chance, Calzaghe's record is outstanding,

But Mayweather won The National Golden Gloves, and Michagan State Golden Gloves, to name a few of his achievements.

This is a good question. The Mayweather nuthuggers talk about him as if he is the best of all time. If he is the best, shouldn't he have won the gold medal? Of course his nuthugging fans will make excuses about judges, or him being dehydrated, or the referee, or something...but the truth is Mayweather's very good, but just isn't all that great.

Mayweather and the olympics, from Wikipiedia

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Mayweather won a bronze medal by reaching the finals of the featherweight (57 kg)[8] division's 31-boxer tournament. In the opening round, Mayweather led 10-1 on points over Bakhtiyar Tileganov of Kazakhstan before he won by round 2 referee stoppage. In the second round, Mayweather outpointed Artur Gevorgyan of Armenia 16-3. In the quarterfinals, Mayweather survived a late rally by Lorenzo Aragon of Cuba to win 47-11. In his semifinal bout against the eventual silver medalist, Serafim Todorov of Bulgaria, Mayweather lost by a controversial decision that the U.S. team officially protested. Many who saw the bout, including the referee, believed that Mayweather had won.[9]

Being a great boxer does not hinge on being a great amateur boxer. Amateur boxing is a different sport which awards different styles.

Cotto while having some success at amateur was not stylisticly built to be a great amateur. PBF's style of catching a lot of punches on the arms or sholder can be a weakness in the amateurs where they award contact not effectiveness.

Jose Luis Castillo was also robbed in his first fight with Mayweather - even the HBO broadcast crew thought JLC won, and seemed shocked at the judges decision.
