I havent seen the Tape, apparently it was a roy jones style screw job, ive seen an interview where mayweather says he is glad it happened, because it made him become a better pro.

How did Ricky Hatton and Joe Calzaghe do at the olympics?

In the ABA's, british amatuers, dont think they got to the olympics though.

So if they are so good how come they didnt participate in the Olympics?

When you get the answer, apply that to floyd and this thread is done.

The southpaw had "some 120" fights and won four schoolboy ABA titles, followed by three consecutive senior British ABA titles (British Championships) from 1991 to 1993. This made him only the second boxer in history to win at Welter, Light Middle and Middleweight divisions

now you have to agree that better than mayweather amature record

A good follow-up question may be:

Why is a knowledgeable fan asking these types of questions?

Amateur boxing and pro boxing are often two different beings. YOu have some guys who are highly successful in the amateurs, but they may not have a pro-adaptable style.

Didn't Lawrence Clay-Bey (really) win the gold at heavyweight over Klitschko?

Abdulaev beat Cotto in THE OPENING ROUND of the Olympics.
