Povetkin Dominates Donald For Decision Win

Alexander Povetkin confirmed his status as the hottest heavyweight prospect in the world as he clinched a unanimous points victory over Larry Donald. Fighting in front of a ferocious home crowd in Moscow, the 27-year-old started out strongly and won every single round on the scorecards. "It was tough fight against a very experienced opponent but I am pleased with my performance," Povetkin said after the shutout decision, which spelled his 13th win in as many bouts. "I don´t know how long it will take me to get a title fight but I am definitely ready." [details]

Who do you think Povetkin should fight next? I'd like to see him in against an American, so he'll become better known. It would be good for him to come and fight in America now.

Rahman, Barrett, Briggs, Williamson, or Ruiz would be good opponents...

Rahman would be a good performance. After his last fight where he looked like crap Povetkin would have a good chance.

I agree , any of those opponents would be good. Maybe he should try and get some fights under his belt before he steps in there w/ the contenders, hes only 13-0. He looked very good in the one fight i saw him in.

Rahman I would avoid for a few more fights. I'm not doubting Povetkin, but let's not forget this time last year Rahman was WBC, and he only lost a very close fight to a guy who just has his number.

Ruiz could frustrate him a bit, and I wouldn't take him next either.
