Hatton makes his case to beat Mayweather!

You could easily take what Hatton is saying and flip it around from Floyds perspective. Has Hatton ever fought anyone as fast as Floyd? No. Has he ever fought anyone who is as elusive as Floyd? No. Floyd has fought guys that were close to what Ricky Hatton fights like. Hatton has never fought anybody like Mayweather.

I think Hatton knows and is aware of his short term. Hence the fight with Floyd. If that's even true.

Floyd is in his prime and has now been in with bigger men. He will not slow down for several more years and his body has filled out he is still lightning quick and sharper then ever. Hatton's style worked against Zoo because he needs room to work he does not move around or evade punches like PBF. He also is not a lighting fast counterpuncher and his defense is no where near PBF's (nobodies is). Also PBF hits harder then Hatton gives him credit for but he doesnt respect Floyds power and that will be a big mistake. I say PBF TKO in 8 peace out

Hatton would give Mayweather an awesome workout, I do think Mayweather would win. We all know Hatton is going to fight Mayweather like he did Tszyu. Problem is, Mayweather is lightning quick and his footwork is unbelievable. Tszyu was a slowfooted fighter who just pawed with the jab and waited for right hand and left hook openenings. Mayweather is a guy who can do it all - fight off the backfoot, fight as the agressor, fight with his hands down. And this coming from a HUGE Hatton fan, and a Mayweather 'hater'.

It would be a close fight but in the end Mayweather just has too much class for my boy Hatton.

floyd mayweather's punch output has never been too high to begin with. while i agree that him fighting bigger opponents and still dominating them in umimpressivie fashion due to him being more cautious may have had a wear and tear on his body as far as muscle gain and added weight is concerened, i don't see mayweather declining period. age cannot be stopped for any athlete byt floyd mayweather trains all year round. he is in great shape all year round so that will not work in hatton's favor period. mayweather's mind won't change, he is the smarter fighter. he knows hatton will try to smother him and pressure him and hold him. floyd will beat hatton easily and i've been saying this for over 3 years now. hatton has trouble with slick boxers who are also elusive and good on their feet. this has nothing to do with his fight with collazo more than his fight with kosta either. in both fights, when collazo moved more and kosta moved more they hit hatton at will. ricky is not the same fighter but against urango he was caught with many body shots, and mayweather throws great body shots just like hatton does, but floyd throws them while moving backwards, walking you down, or on the move and standing still and this will hurt hatton. floyd can break you down with body shots and not even ones to the liver, but to the ribs, and if floyd lands a shot to ricky's liver, which i see happening, ricky is done from the start. floyd will stop hatton within 10 rounds if they fight. i've said this for years and still mean this now. saying floyd isn't the same fighter is one thing, no fighter in their 30s is the same fighter they were when they were younger, especially a fighter who's moved up in wieght, but you guys have to remember, floyd can stay in shape all year round like it's no tomorrow because he has a great team, and his stamina is better than hattons, no doubt. hatton has great stamina but mayweather doesn't stop training, whereas hatton drinks boos and gets drunk, mayweather has no off season which is why, unlike roy jones, mayweather will not diminish, because other than the fact he has more skills to fall back on, his bodyand mind is always prepared for any fighter even at his age. mayweather picks his shots and has always picked his shots for the most part but it's his accuracy he worries about in his fights which wins him rounds in higher weights. he is smart. he racks up the points and if he gets a knockout then that's even better.

you have to also note that mayweather has brittle hands and he's had brittle hands for years. he's hurt his hands in many fights so his punch output coincides with his hands lasting all 12 rounds. mayweathe is a boxing savanst, so as he gets older he only gets smarter. he has many strateigies to beat any opponents so if he feels that his skills aren't as sharp as they used to be, he'll find another way to beat you, he's no dumby.

I can't believe that there's already talk of Mayweather being past his prime. Talk about setting yourself up for a fall.

Incidentally fighters generally start to decline in their early thirties. This is because they reach their peak when they hit thirty, it's all downhill from there. Floyd should be at his peak.

How so? All of Floyd's toughest fights have been against strong tough pressure fighters. Hatton will be the biggest of these he has ever faced. I would have thought Floyd's easiest fights were against ruined fighters like Gatti or Mitchell. I suspect that you haven't thought this through.

I suspect you are relatively new to the boxing game then. A lot of British fighters have done very well and have followed the same acareer ark as most American fighters.
