Not excuses since I held this idea for many years. All you have to do is reread my points and then ask yourself why this fight did not happen when Floyd wanted the fight?

I also said before that Mayweather should just say "**** You" to Hatton, it is to late.

How come Hatton is not to blame in this situation?

If Mayweather did not announce his retirement (which was a smart move) Hatton might not have called him out either, so there is a money situation that Hatton wants as well.

Cotto and Hatton, two fighters that ducked Mayweather, and neither bothered to even fight eachother.

Not sure when the first challenge was, but there was a challenge after he beat Tszyu. The only difference is that Mayeather changed his mind on going to England because the way Tszyu was treated/the way Hatton was allowed to fight.

So you are saying after Hatton's greatest victory in his career that he was not ready, even though he was now the Champion?

If I am not mistaken, Hatton's contract also ran out with Warren and Showtime, meaning Ricky was FREE to do what he wanted.

To me, this would of been the best time for both fighters and especially the fans.

Do any of you guys realize how ludicris it is to suggest hatton has been waiting for Floyd to get old and slow down? Hatton is a swarmer, swarmers historicaly have very short careers and accumulate damage at a much faster rate. Ricky Hatton is going down hill at a faster pace than Mayweather is, and Im pretty sure he knows it.

Yes, fighters like Hatton to burn out faster, but the Mayweather he would have had to go up against he most likely did not stand a chance at that point, so he waited, built his bank account up, and looked for a sign. Now, Mayweather isn't quite as fast, hit 30, more wear and tear in the gym, lower punch-stats, etc. Mayweather is still a great fighter, but he is starting to remind me of how Roy declined, except of course Mayweather has the boxing Technique/expertise to continue longer.

The added muscle weight might also might have decreased Floyd's stamina. I know the training footage says different, but given he doesn't fight at the pace he used to, might indicate something different.

He is suffering from shane mosley syndrome. Move up in weight, throw less punches.

So is it age, added muscle weight from lifting weights, caution of bigger fighters....?

Good point with Shane, although he did throw a good amount in his first fight with Oscar, after that, WTF happened.

The Good Old Days... I am going to go back and watch Shane from when he was light-weight...loved watching him back in the day.

Notice any time they were separated and Hatton came charging in Tszyu was able to land and even stun Ricky on occasion with the left hook. Each time Hatton was not able to respond and had to hold for about 9 seconds.

This is also, why I say a younger, fitter, faster, more agile Tszyu most likely would have beaten him.
Well if I fought Ricky that's just what I'd do. Only Floyd is 100 times faster than I am. He can see him coming from a mile away.

You could easily take what Hatton is saying and flip it around from Floyds perspective. Has Hatton ever fought anyone as fast as Floyd? No. Has he ever fought anyone who is as elusive as Floyd? No. Floyd has fought guys that were close to what Ricky Hatton fights like. Hatton has never fought anybody like Mayweather.
