Sure Oscar is the man but he isnt getting even half that much with anyone else in boxing right now. Floyd fought Zab and got 400 buys while Cotto fights him and is lucky to get 200. This other dumb ass comes on here sweating Margarito who gets PPV buys of 35,000.

Stop acting like Floyd is not a draw. He's more famous in America then all of those guys. The numbers will easily tell you that. Nobody is buying a Hatton PPV in America and no one is buying a Cotto PPV. So what Hatton brings people to the seats? Boxing is super huge in his country. He's not doing anything special. You guys act like he's doing something super and he's not. If any other top fighter was raised there and fought there then they would have the same thing and even more. Stop saying crazy ****. If a Soccer star grew up in the US then no one would know or care about him. Beckam is huge but if he was born & raised in the US then no one would care about him over here. The same **** goes for Hatton. If his ass was born and raised here then he would just be a regular chump and no one would be following to see his fights. Stop acting like his **** is so special.

At the end of the day Floyd is rated #1 and thats all that matters. You ****in haters can cry all you want but he's #1 and thats that. If Hatton doesnt take the fight then Floyd will just stay retired and eventually Hatton will get exposed by someone else and then you same clowns will try to bring up another name like always

Floyd is a whining little crybaby ***** and he always will be.

floyd's got a name about him in the states, but the gates at his fights are **** unless he's fighting a mexican. i've been to over a half a dozen of floyds fights here in vegas and i will tell you from experience there are a **** ton of empty seats.

floys is not a household name and floyd isnt a big marquee name, he is growing, but you can't use the DLH fight as an example because that falls into the only time floyd has big numbers is when he's fighting a mexican. now for the simple fact that floyd isnt a household name, he is growing in popularity but as a whole in the US, floyd is a big name in a small pond in the US.

lets put it in perspective, do you think that floyd would have 11 thousand plus people by tickets to go to the UK to see him fight, no. it would be more like a few hundred at best. especially after floyds last fight with DLH where the casual boxing fan felt ripped off, a lot of people won't and don't want to watch floyd fight again let alone buy a ppv to watch him fight, people felt ripped off. floyd hyped himself and the fight as a toe to toe battle that he was going to punish his opponent, it was the furthest thing from it. when it comes to PPV's the bulk of the sales aren't to hardcore fans like us, it's to the casual fan and floyd has pissed them off.

plus that is besides the point, floyd has to defend his honor and his pride, if i were floyd i'd take whatever to get the fight to happen asap, as rich as he is money shouldn't matter, **** he throws it around like it's nothnig, unless he's a fake just playing like he's got the mots in front of the camera. location and money is a cop out at this point. for both sides, floyd and hatton...........

I completely disagree. Whats up with all this Mexican crap? Baldy isnt Mexican and neither is Zab or Gatti and he did great numbers with all of them. What about huge Mexican stars fighting eachother like EM, MAB, & JMM but they cant even outdue Floyd's numbers against a regular guy? What are you saying?

I also completely disagree with the people traveling stuff. Your trying to tell me that those same people and more wouldnt travel to see the #1 fighter in the game if he was born & raised in England and fought there his shole career? Thats a joke. He would be a way bigger star then Hatton. You guys put way too much stock in that brawling crap. If it was so big then how come these guys dont put up huge PPV numbers? Pac, EM, MAB, JMM, Cotto, Margarito, and a million more guys brawl all the time and only do average PPV's even when there having super fights. Dont tell me that the England fans wouldnt love Floyd. You guys can say alot of things but to keep saying that is dumb. The guy is talked about as P4P the #1 fighter in the game and one of the best of recent memory but people wouldnt travel to see him like Hatton? People wouldnt pack the house in Manchester? Come on now.

People just love to blame Floyd for everything. Boxing just isnt big anymore. He had a good crowd against Zab. You can go look at every US fighter and pretty much none of them have a crowd and all of them suck on PPV. The only way to get a big crowd is if you have a local fight like Cotto & Zab. Cotto & Gatti are the ultimate exciting fighters but neither of them would pack the crowd in other places. Gatti wont sell on PPV and neither has Cotto. If Cotto didnt fight in NY on the PR parade against a BK fighter then it wouldnt have been anywhere near a pack house. If Gatti doesnt fight in his hometown of AC then it wouldnt have been a packed house. Floyd says that all the time. People sweat Gatti for ticket sales but he's from AC. If Floyd fought all his fights in Grand Rapids then he would sell out every fight also but Grand Rapids isnt AC so it doesnt work. There are so many people on here that try to look at things in just black & white and it doesnt work but thats all people do. They know its not that simple. People just say anything but never want to aknowledge the reasons for it. Atleast admit that stuff

The 3 times Oscar sold 1 mil+ PPV's was when he fought Tito 1.5 mil, Hopkins 1 mil and Floyd record 2.2 mil. Oscar by himself would've never sold 2.2 mil PPV's, he couldn't even do that with Tito or Hopkins. Floyd's is the biggest name in boxing today, I see 100 threads about Floyd daily, when was the last time we saw that many threads about any boxer??

Love him or hate him, he's the biggest name in boxing today, especially after the Delahoya fight, even before the Delahoya fight, he sold 330 K with a guy like Baldy not one person knew who Baldy was outside the boxing forums.

Hatton just had 3 fights in the United States to build up his fanbase and now he wants to fight Floyd in England?
            That makes no sense.
Floyd was part of the biggest ppv ever, he is the draw, he is the more popular fighter, and he is the money in this one.

floyd doesn't have the same kind of loyal fan base as hatton. baldomir isn't mexican and the gate on that fight was ****, there were tons of empty seats, tons. and people left before the end of the fight, people were filing out of the arena after the 7th round!!! there were still 5 more rounds,WTF! and as for the gatti fight, gatti was the draw, gatti has a way bigger fan base than floyd, more people would want to watch a washed up gatti fight than floyd, it's true, whether you believe it or not, gatti isn't called the human highlight reel for nothing.

hatton makes exciting fights, mayweather does too but far from as exciting as hattons. it's exciting to watch floyd for us because we know what to look at, the general population wants a fight, they want action, they don't want to see defense, they want to see shots landed and toe to toe action. if floyd was born in the UK i don't think he'd have the same kind of fan base as hatton still because of his appeal to the general population, it's hatton's fight style and his fights that has made his fan base.

there are some/a lot of people who like floyd, here and all over the world, but the same can be said for hatton and in the same breath i am willing to bet that you ask who is the more exciting fighter they will tell you hatton because of the brawls. defense doesn't sell fights, that is why floyd has to lie to the public to get them to buy his fights.
he couldn't sell a fight saying that he is going to put on the biggest defensive fight you have ever seen and that he going to win by using his defense and back up all fight long and fight off the ropes, NO! he's going to say that he's going to go to war and fight like you've never seen him fight before and that it's going to be a toe to toe battle. and it doesn't happen, but if you hear hatton say that he is going to go to war and make it a toe to toe battle, you know damn well that is going to happen.

now why do you think floyd says that he's going to go to war and make it a toe to toe battle, because that sells and that is what the people want, only thing floyd doesn't deliver. if floyd would say that he was going to use his defense and pick apart his opponent while not engaging in any toe to toe action, he'll at least be telling the truth, but he won't sell any tickets.

you act like floyd is the only draw in any of his fights, they have to create controversy in order to sell floyds fights, his fight style soesn't sell it alone. hattons fight style does.they have to create controversy, controversy with him and zab once being friends, controversy with gatti by discrediting gatti all the while mayweather was banking on gatti's name knowing that gatti was well over matched, i still don't understand the baldomir fight other than an easy payday for floyd. but floyds fight style doesn't sell, it's all the other **** that surrounds him and the fight that sells.

Why do you keep talking about gates and ignoring the PPV sales? Floyd might didnt do well at the Gate agains Baldy but he had more PPV sales then alot of huge fights. No one even knows who Baldy is and his PPV numbers were way bigger then alot of major fights. Its not just about the gate. Also, how many guys wouldve filled the gate with Baldy?

I also disagree with you about the Oscar fight. I think Floyd meant what he said but he thought Oscar was going to bring the fight to him and he didnt. You talk about Floyd lying but what about Oscar? Please dont tell me that he made it a rough & tough dog fight like he said he would. That is all of Oscar's fault. He came forward but he was only doing it half way. Floyd meant what he said. Ill say it again, Floyd could fight that same exact way against Hatton, Shane, Margarito, or Cotto and it wouldve been a exciting fight because they wouldve applied alot more pressure to Floyd. Oscar has 3 inches & 20 pounds on a much smaller man and he cant make Floyd fight? Thats his fault. Zab ran 10x more then Floyd did but did Cotto punish Zab and make it a fight? Oscar didnt do his job. Floyd could say the same thing about a Hatton fight and he could fight the same exact way but this time it would be super exciting because Hatton will apply the pressure that Oscar shouldve.

Thank you. Since when is 10 million dollars chump change? Floyd doesn't excite the casual fans nearly enough to try to demand Oscar De La Hoya type of money. It doesn't matter how great his skills are if they don't impress people beyond the boxing fanatics.

Floyd needs to start making some realistic choices in terms of his battles outside the ring, or STAY ****ING RETIRED. Going to England to fight someone that has a rabid fanbase like Hatton is not too much to ask. It can't be done even once in Floyd's career because it is just oh so difficult to do?

Whatever happened to being the champion of the WORLD anyway? I believe most of the all-time greats made their way around the globe for a fight here and there. Those of us that are Americans have become spoiled and think everybody needs to come to "us' or else. It really doesn't work that way.

When did Sugar Ray Leonard fight out of the country? Marvin Hagler? Muhammad Ali? Floyd's not going to England with all those Brits and get screwed by Hatton's fans. They should just do it in Vegas. What's wrong with that?
