Taylor's plans for a couple KO's to generate buzz didn't work out as intended, but this should be a good fight against Pavlik.

It is one thing to be hardcore and an animal in the gym, but if that doesn't translate to the ring on fight night, it's just wasted energy. Taylor needs to bring that attitude to the ring that he has in the gym.

Taylor seems to fight better against guys who press him into action, much like Winky Wright did, and by doing so Winky turned what could have been a boring fight into a thrilling twelve round ride. Pavlik will probably try to back Taylor up in the same fashion.

Taylor should also clear up problems he still has in his corner, that was not good when I saw Steward talking to him and another guy whispering in his ear at the same time. Only 1 person should be giving Taylor instructions between rounds and that is his head trainer. If Mr. Whisperer has something to say to Taylor, he should wait until Steward is done talking. I'm surprised Manny didn't tell that guy to shut the heck up while he was talking.

Jermain also has a problem of not listening to what his trainer says to him and taking it to the next round...it is not Steward, it was a problem Taylor has had long before Steward came on board.

Taylor needs this type of fight to gain back his credibility. Pavlik will force him to fight and he won't be complaining how he's opponent ran the whole fight, like the Spinks fight. Pavlik will be right in front of him and won't be hard to find. If Taylor wins this one and does it in exciting fashion his stock could be on the rise again. Pavlik is going to present a challenge with his reach, power in both hands and his workrate. This has the makings of a great fight and lets see how well Taylor handles pressure.

I agree that Miranda was tailor made for Pavlik, but Pavlik isnt tailor made for Taylor.

Pavlik is gonna expose a lot of Taylors openings and gaps. Even if he loses or gets dominated, he has the type of very effective pressure style that probably WILL give Taylor a lot of trouble early in the fight
Uh I'd seen Miranda hurt several times and knocked down going into the Pavlik fight. It was his idiot fans who thought he was good when really he was a terrible fighter hidden by his power. He wasn't even on Corrales' level as a fighter, yet people heralded him as the next middleweight champ. What a joke.

taylor ain't exposing ****... pavlik hits a lot harder than hopkins or winky. pavlik should take this fight, but it won't be easy. taylor is on a different level as a boxer than miranda, but taylor is a great athlete, not a fighter. pavlik is a fighter

"those days are over." days of what? fighting jr middleweights? are you tired of that already? or days of fighting like a *****? are you finally gonna "bring out the dog" in ur fight with pavlik? jermain, you bark like a chihuahua and bite like a poodle. you're as docile as a dog as they come.

"this is the fight they want, so i'll give it to them"? really? i thought this was the big money fight that you wanted. i thought you fought pavlik only because he was where the money was at. funny how things change in just a few weeks.

go ahead, jermain. trade with pavlik and find a place to fall. pavlik stops guys who have never before been stopped. hes no one-dimensional slugger, he can move and box if he needs to. ****, that might just be what he'll do to you, jermain.

"and then what? after i beat him, then what? because im going to beat him." do you have any idea how ****ing ****** and pointless that statement was? what the **** were you trying to say? "then what, because im going to beat him"? you're asking a ****** question and giving a completely irrelevant answer. what an intelligent champion.

"his heart isnt big enough." pavlik got knocked down, and then he got up. did you ever do that, jermain? did you ever get up when you were down? pavlik didnt play the matador when he fought the bull-rushing miranda, he played another bull. he brought the fight to the fighter. did you ever do that, jermain? did you ever prove how big YOUR heart was?

"i punished him in the amateurs." who gives a **** what happend in the amateurs? there are fighters who were terrible amateurs who turn professional to become legendary champions. there are teriffic amateurs who turn pro to become club fighters who amount to nothing. the amateurs mean ****, jermain. everyone knows that.

jermain, plz fight pavlik and lose. boxing needs a new MW champion, one thats certainly better than you. kelly pavlik is that new MW champion.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Somebody needed to speak the truth.

I can't believe there are so many people sitting here praising Taylor like he is some all-time-great middleweight. I don't understand how anyone can even support Taylor at this point.

I personally am rooting for the downfall of JT, and I would be thrilled to see a cool guy like Pavlik dethrone the paper champ. Poor Pavlik will probally need to win 9 to 10 rounds to get a close decision against the "gifted" champ.

I wouldn't be surprised to see JT retire once he gets his first official loss. I think that would be a good thing for boxing too.
