I agree as well. But the $8million against Baldomir makes me think otherwise.

The mayweather PPV did more and became the greatest selling ppv of all time, people wanted to see de la hoya, but they wanted to see him beat mayweather.

And so it wasnt all de la hoya, even though he always pulls in the majority of the sales.

Secondly hatton could never be worth anywhere near 50/50 with mayweather at this stage,

Mayweather is an establshed HBO ppv headliner, the ppv numbers prove it, he does above average numbers every time, whereas Hatton has NEVER been on HBO ppv.

Also mayweather is more well known in america where the fight would happen, is the best fighter in the sport, and just came off making 20 million fighting de la hoya, he would NEVER come out of retirement to get the same money as hatton, 65/35 is about as good as it will get for hatton, he made 2.5 million for his last fight, he cant start asking for silly money if he wants the fight to happen.

Hatton needs mayweather, which is why he is always talking about him the same way mayweather needed de la hoya, de la hoya made nearly 3 times what mayweather did, and mayweather had to agree to all DLH's additional stipulations to get the fight.

Hatton will have to do the same if he really wants to fight mayweather, fact is, hatton doesnt have much of a position to negotiate, because mayweather can fight a better fighter in mosley and make more money.
thats what im saying. *****s need to understand this cause thats the way it is. period.

mayweather did well with oscar but this is not oscar were talking about anymore. were talking hatton and hatton can make this fight huge if it happens in england. mayweather is simply not as big a draw in america as hatton is in the uk. in the usa i dont think this fight does more than 500k buys and maybe like 20k live. in england you could fill a soccer stadium and charge ridiculous price for tickets and still get the 500k ppv buys in the us. if mayweather wants money he has to go to england. i dont think he wants to go to the uk so he wont even take this fight once he sees he wont make more than like 8 million here. he will find a way to duck hatton just as he has ducked and dodged his entire career.

Floyd loves money.. And this has NOTHING to do with HBO.. who will still sell lot's of PPV's whereever it is.. The live Gate will be the difference..
I posted and it didnt appear, so im'a do a fresh one.

                  1) HBO means everything, they decide who and maybe even where mayweather fights, because if floyd fights someone they dont want him to, he wont be fighting on HBO, lol. Now the PPV should do more money if it is in america because it would appeal more to the american auidience who are the REAL money generators when it comes to PPV sales, Selling PPV's on Santanta and Sky box office is different to selling on HBO, different auidience.

Lets be honest here, hatton cant carry a PPV on HBO because otherwise he would have been made a headliner, sure he can sell a few on sky box office, but the american auidence is where the money is, i dont think he could do numbers by himself in the US, not yet, maybe in time.

                  2) Floyd has money, doesnt need anymore, he doesnt need hatton, hatton cant demand a thing, floyd is more well known in the US, made more money and is a proven PPV headliner, he would NEVER come out of retirement to fight hatton unless the money is right, he said that in many interviews, if he ever comes back, it will be for big money, and there is no way hatton could ever be given 15 million when he only made 2.5 million in his last fight and has never been on US ppv.

And to answer Baya, no floyd is not worth as much as his opponent, was Baldomir worth 8 million?

                  no.

And mayweather is worth alot more than £15 mil after de la hoya.

Why the hell should u care what cut Floyd is going to recieve, or what's his worth? Are u getting a percentage of his purse? Stop worrying about another man's finances, and just enjoy this great potential matchup if it ever materializes.
