FLOYD MAYWEATHER vows to ‘kick Ricky Hatton’s butt’ after agreeing to a £15million superfight.

Mayweather is angry at taunts from The Hitman.

The American’s manager Leonard Ellerbe said: “The deal can be done this week. Floyd’s going to show all his fans in Britain just what a phoney Hatton is.”


Mayweather, 30, announced his retirement after his win over Oscar De La Hoya last month but has been incensed by Hatton’s verbals.

Hatton, winner of all his 43 fights, claimed his fourth-round knockout of Mexico’s Jose Luis Castillo contained more action than Mayweather’s whole 38-fight unbeaten career.

Now ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather — regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world — wants to ram Hatton’s jibes down his throat.

Ellerbe said: “He got Floyd’s attention. Now we’re calling his bluff.

"Hatton’s very disrespectful. He’s trying to promote himself off Floyd’s name.

“Floyd has never taken any fight personally. But he’s taking this personally. Floyd is going to kick his butt.

"All he has to do is make a deal and he’ll have his chance to back up all that talk.

“When we make the deal we’ll show the world why he’s the most over-rated fighter of this decade.”

Ellerbe poured scorn on Hatton’s victory over veteran Castillo, 33, who twice took Mayweather the full 12 rounds before losing world title fights at lightweight.

He said: “Hatton fought a shell of Castillo. Floyd fought him at the top of his game half a decade ago.”

He insisted Mayweather will prove his point if the money is right and if broadcasters HBO can find an Autumn date. Ellerbe added: “Hatton said he only wants the best — then sign the contract.”

Hatton’s American promoter Art Pellulo said: “Ricky and his dad are very interested in Mayweather. I’m sure something can get done.”

And mayweather is worth alot more than £15 mil after de la hoya.

Mayweather is only worth whoever he is Fighting is worth.. Mayweather didnt do over a million PPV's DLH did.... In The UK Hatton is worth more than Floyd is worth in the USA.. I dont see any reason why Hatton should not be paid as much as Floyd..

The mayweather PPV did more and became the greatest selling ppv of all time, people wanted to see de la hoya, but they wanted to see him beat mayweather.

And so it wasnt all de la hoya, even though he always pulls in the majority of the sales.

Secondly hatton could never be worth anywhere near 50/50 with mayweather at this stage,

Mayweather is an establshed HBO ppv headliner, the ppv numbers prove it, he does above average numbers every time, whereas Hatton has NEVER been on HBO ppv.

Also mayweather is more well known in america where the fight would happen, is the best fighter in the sport, and just came off making 20 million fighting de la hoya, he would NEVER come out of retirement to get the same money as hatton, 65/35 is about as good as it will get for hatton, he made 2.5 million for his last fight, he cant start asking for silly money if he wants the fight to happen.

If Floyd has any Business sense.. this fight will happen in the UK... It wont sell 30k live gate in the USA.. It could potentially sell 60k here.. £'s double in value once brought back to the USA.. so whatever Floyd makes in £'s he can double that to $'s when he gets home..

Floyd loves money.. And this has NOTHING to do with HBO.. who will still sell lot's of PPV's whereever it is.. The live Gate will be the difference..
