But he implied in that interview this thread is talking about that he would move up to 147 to fight Mayweather, gain for the pain...
He only suggests a 'catchweight' as a possibility.
He doesnt say "I'll only fight at a catchweight".Comment

I agree with Black Jesus on this catch weight bull****. It's not like Hatton hasn't fought at 147 so there shouldn't be a problem with him moving up to 147. Mayweather weighed in at 149 in a 154 lbs fight. Hatton could do the same if he wants to.Comment

It doesn't matter so much what the weight is. Floyd never really went up in weight, he just fought officiallt at 154. He didn't even gain wight between weigh-in and fight if I remember correctly. What he would be doing is NOT coming down in weight as this is traditionally understood.
They should fight at about 145 lbs, easy enough for both guys to make, and Floyd doesn't have to drain himself at all to do thatComment

Yep Kayjay bit fighting at an official weight should be desirable to bring back credibility to the sport, plus then the genuine WW title would be on the line, again, a good thing for the sport.
Anyway I doubt this fight will happen, as of now Floyd is in retirement and I can't see him coming out for Hatton in a fairly even split of cash, or Hatton taking significantly short money.Comment

I just think that its a wonder how Mayweather and his camp can now sit in retirement and claim that everyone who comes along is either 'not impressive' or 'not in his league'. It makes you wonder how a). He ever got so many fights made in his career and b). How comes there are virtually NO big names on his resume with his apparent standard of opposition screening process.Comment
