The way Hattons UK fans adore him is kinda creepy. 11,000 tickets bought by Brits and flew over? The airports must have been insane. Hatton Wonderland...lol.

You raise a good point. I don't know the answer to your question but I think you and I both know that Hatton has considerably more support than either of the aforementioned fighters. I don't know what that says about British society but perhaps we will find out if Amir Khan ever scales the heights that Hatton has as Khan is infinitely more likeable than Hamed and infinitely more British than Lewis.

Yeah Lewis is Canadian and Hamed always harped on about the Yemen so you cant really compare them to Hatton.

Despite being one of my favourite fighters, Hamed was as ****y (arrogant) as hell and didnt appeal to many British fans (not me though, i thought he was ace!) and Lewis was about as charasmatic as cement.

Hatton is an approachable kind of guy, genuine, and really cares about the people who come to support him. He grew up in a local community where everyone knew him and his accomplishments and then after Hamed and Lewis were out of the picture, he became the only fighter we had who took up the mantle and fought in America.

Calzaghe hasnt fought in the US yet and some say he never will. Sometimes, just sometimes nice guys finish first.

The Hatton fans were infectious all the way through. I even found myself humming along with the Wonderland theme after the KO. There's nothing like an electric crowd, man. Makes any fight seem waaaay better.
