I wonder if more people just dislike Ricky's or any fighters nuthugging fans more than they actually dislike the fighter himself, after all, Ricky is a pro fighter risking his health while lots of others that talk smack are just doing it for kicks or just delusional.

I'm on the train of hating his fans. I've on issues with Hatton. I don't find his style appealing and I believe him to be an overrated fighter.... but that's not to suggest that I'm insulting his skill. He is a very good fighter. But not as good as many people would lead you to believe. Then of coures, after a "big win" these boards are flooded w/ people who love the taste of any winning fighter's nuts... so things are blown out of proportion even moreso to the point where I almost begin to dislike the fighter if I read the site for too long.

As for this weird polarization with Hatton fans hating PBF and vice versa, you're painting it black and white. Try reading some of the smarter posters opinions. You'll see subtleties to the opinions that are presented.

Floyd's a great fighter. Probably better than Hatton. Sadly though he has dissappointed me greatly since his lightweight days. His retirement is a loss to boxing but mainly is the confirmation that he will not equal his lightweight exploits.

People who appreciate his skills are fine. Morons who blindly believe he is the greatest to ever walk the planet need to grow up.
A year ago it was Toney.
Before that it was RJJ.
A decade ago it was Tyson.
These 'greats' often pall in the light of hindsight. But it doesn't stop newbies getting excited and crying that the greatest ever walks amongst us.

Generally that seems to be the case. It's very obvious to onlookers that the extreme fans are identical to each other, just posting the opposing opinion. Admittedly 'opinion' is too sophisticated a word for many of these people.
Maybe it's me though but the Floyd extremists seem to stay fairly constant wheras the Hattonites rotate and are replaced by new posters. Weird.
I post a lot less than I used to. I usually just read the interesting threads and then bail when 'pwnage' starts.
Occasionally I do bait the fanboys though with a little controversy but only when I REALLY have nothing better to do.

Good body punchers do tend to throw punches to the body all night...that's why they're good body punchers! It's called softening up the body! A good shot to the body doesn't hurt your legs or arms or head, you may not be able to stand though 'cause to try and stand will just bring on the pain which may last for several minutes.

A guy may look alright but busted ribs or cartilidge or a winding will invariably drop you to your knees. There ain't anything you can do about it till the hurting goes away.
