Joe Louis broke a vertebrae in Max Schmeling's back.
Whatever punch did it had to of been better then what Hatton did.

I don't think any of us have seen every body punch ko so calling any of them the best is a bit much.

The best i've seen and remember.
      The Roy Jones Vs Hill
      Tyson has had a lot
      Micky Ward vs Gatti
      Hopkins vs DLH
Pac man vs can't remember his name but it was a HBO fight from about a year or two ago.

fans never give any respect to floyd mayweather and at the same time, want us to praise everything hatton does, and stop making excuse for hatton for not being able to fight at 147 cotto is only 5'7 and some people think hes the best welter weight in world. Thats why I want this fight to be made more than the floyd cotto fight so it could be finally put to rest who the better fighter is.
Wow, suddenly we see the reason for this thread.
        Wah, wah, wah Floyd.....

You have presented what is known as a straw man argument.

If you are upset that Hatton is being praised while Floyd is being dissed then say so. Don't fabricate arguments for people, make your own point. I haven't seen anyone claiming that Hatton's KO bodyshot was the best of all time.

As for Floyd? He's retired. If he wants to fight his own battles he knows what to do. He's done what he's done and you can assume no more unless he returns. Til then, tough luck. He isn't going to change anyone's opinions with words and by throwing money around. Neither are his fans.

Seeing as Floyd's career is over (and I would never call Floyd a liar despite claims of forthcoming knockouts not actually being attempted) then we can only judge him on what he's done. Hatton for his faults (and he has a fair few) is still building his legacy and Castillo was a step in the right direction. In my mind PBF-DLH was comparibly a good step for Floyd. Sadly it was his final one.

Hatton weighs at least 168 outside the ring, he is not a 140 pound fighter, he weight drains, everyone knows this.

168 180 outside the ring is not
the same as fighting at a championship level

anyone can drink and lay their ass around
          50 60 100 pounds heavier.

pacman is around the same height you think
he should go to 140 and fight? hatton not going
to let pride get to him and have him fight too big.
he is lil and fight140. he is young n can make weight
you dont know wether he feels better at 140 or 147

the reason for this thread was because all the hattons fans were acting like he just beat a prime castillo the reason why I brought up floyds name was to vaildate my point yes I am mayweather fan and your obvious a hatton fan you can lie all you want but if you werent you wouldnt be defending him so much I never said he wasnt a great fighter I think he is but hatton fans dont want to give any respect floyd so why should I give there fighter any. I already said I want this fight to be made so it could finally settle who the better fighter is.

Hahaha. Find me one thread where I have been more than mildly complimentary about Hatton. Try harder.

As for this weird polarization with Hatton fans hating PBF and vice versa, you're painting it black and white. Try reading some of the smarter posters opinions. You'll see subtleties to the opinions that are presented.

Floyd's a great fighter. Probably better than Hatton. Sadly though he has dissappointed me greatly since his lightweight days. His retirement is a loss to boxing but mainly is the confirmation that he will not equal his lightweight exploits.

People who appreciate his skills are fine. Morons who blindly believe he is the greatest to ever walk the planet need to grow up.
A year ago it was Toney.
              Before that it was RJJ.
A decade ago it was Tyson.
These 'greats' often pall in the light of hindsight. But it doesn't stop newbies getting excited and crying that the greatest ever walks amongst us.

Hes not the greatest ever a hall of famer but not even close to the greatest ever thats why a fight with hatton should bring him out of retirement with hattons fan base it should be big money but I have to disagree about the confirmation of his lightweight exploits that may have been his best weight class ever but at 140 he has more speed and power. If ricky didnt turn down that fight years ago this wouldnt even be an issue but I hope this fight does happen and not at 147 because if floyd beats him there all the hatton fans will make the excuse that its not his best weight class, So if this fight is made I hope Its at 140 so no excuse can be made about who the better fighter is.

thats exactly what i was thinking.......and common sense should tell everyone else!

bodyshots are more about luck...you hit the guy 10 times in the same spot and nothing happens..........its about the luck, being that the other guy not being ready for it or off guard...the actual punch by the boxer is the same punch ten times over!!...perfect example is Cotto...great body puncher...but how many times did he hit Urkal hard but didn't even buckle him for 10 rounds or so.???????

the best body punches are the ones happen only once and the opponent goes down...they are very very rare...

whereas, when you have a fighter hitting the opponent 20 times or so, and then one getting through, its not like that the one punch is the best ever!

castillo was looking into the crowd as hatton hit him to the body, im pretty sure he lost interest in winning the fight greatest bodyshot ever on a defenseless person!

People think I trying to hate on hatton but you have to realize hatton was throwing left hooks to the body all night, It was a good enough shot to put castillo down on one knee but not lying on the floor from pain like alot of the great body shots Ive seen over the years. Do I think castillo could have gotten up yes but I dont blame him if he did he might of gotten seriously hurt.
