You have to know some background about fighters, it's what makes it interesting. You can't market a fight, "fighter A vs fighter B". LOl, I mean the hype is all part of it and it makes it better than what it is.
As far as Floyd is concerned, he's NOT the major draw. DLH is the man in boxing because he delivers the goods. He comes prepared and ready to fight. It's not his fault PBF didn't wan't to engage him but he needed to do that to win.
And if you think that DLH could only generate those numbers from fighting PBF, your insane. Imagine what a DLH vs Trinidad rematch would bring.....could be twice that.Comment

I never got why we talk about DLH so often. He hasn't won a fight against a real boxer in a very long time. He's simply a face in my opinion. So what if he has the most female fans in boxing. Real boxing fans should never discuss him.
Floyd had to be the bad guy in this fight and all of a sudden people dislike him.
Lets be honest half of these folks aren't real boxing fans. All boxers talk trash. Its their jobs. You have to consider yourself the best or else you'd look pretty ****** saying that you're not or saying that someone else is.Comment

A rematch between De la Hoya and Trinidad wouldn't PBF and Oscar numbers because of how long Trinidad as been out of boxing. Yall have to understand alot of mexican and puerto rican bought those ppv cards out nationality love not out of a love for boxing. Mexican and Puerto Rican people are loyal to they're nationalities so that plays the biggest role in those numbers not the fighter's stardom really. Because if those numbers were broke down on racial lines I can guarantee you that the households of black and white people who bought they're ppv cards would be extremely lower than those people who share the same nationality as them. I am not saying they are not popular or big draws but that popularity comes more from die hard boxing fans and they're countrymen more than the general public. Michael Jordan was a true star because people of all colors and people who didn't even like basketball knew who he was and that nothing to do with his looks as in the case of Oscar. You have to know some background about fighters, it's what makes it interesting. Oscar does bring the goods every fight but so did mosley when beat him the in there first fight, mosley never been no where near the draw oscars been. A oscar felix first fight when they were both in there prime didn,t get as many ppvs buys and you think that now that there both older it woud do double, 4million plus ppv buys are you serious.Comment

The fact is that without Oscar in the equation no way does Floyd make the money he made in the fight last month. Floyd is a great fighter and is getting more well known but it is still a thing where he alone can't demand money like Leonard, Oscar, Tysonand Holyfield didComment

Floyds ppv numbers are consistanly higher than anyone in the sport with the exception of DLH.oscar is the draw. PLUS the huge hype by 24/7, even non boxing fans watch it out of curiousity plus they know hoya, they didnt know pbf. base from floyd's recent fights, i dont think he's gonna get nowhere near those ppv numbers again. he's popular, in a negative way. ppl might pay to watch him hoping he'd lose, not win.
can you deny the booing he got from his last fights?Comment
