    The Real On Floyd's Popularity!

I got this list from my boy "Dios Dimincano".

One of the biggest misconceptions in boxing and on this board is that Floyd doesnt sell, he's too boring, no one wants to see him fight, and he less famous then so many other boxers. You hear this all the time but then you get the PPV numbers back and Floyd is ahead of everyone in boxing except for Oscar. The only guy who you could argue does slightly better is Hopkins but those fights are super fights. Arum just said that Cotto-Zab did 225,000 buys and you know thats not the truth. You know he's putting it up higher. Everyone else said the fight only did 150,000 and its funny that Arum wont let the numbers be public.

Floyd just set the PPV record with Oscar at 2.2mil. We all know that Oscar is flat out the man but he's not selling 2.2mil with anyone but Floyd and you can see that by his history. If he fought anyone else they wouldve done less then half of that amount at best. With Floyd he shatters the little guys record but no one will give Floyd any credit for that. Guys like Gatti are exciting but people overlook the fact that he lives in A.C. so it gives him a huge advantage. Thats why his fights are so big. If he fights anywhere else then he doesnt pack the house at all. He fought Floyd there and the fight sold out in minutes. Still people tried to say that was all Gatti. They do 360 and people still give Floyd no credit. Then Floyd comes back with Zab. Everyone says that no one is going to buy that ****. No one knows Floyd, no one knows Zab, and Zab just loss. What happened? They do nearly 400. Next he fights Baldy. A guy nobody knows in the whle world and Floyd does 340. Then he broke the record with Oscar. No other fighter in boxing even comes close to that except for Oscar.

Guys like Cotto pack the house in NY on the PR parade. Its a local fight. Even Zab is from BK but no one's going to buy it. The same thing when he fought Paulie. People clown Floyd for not fighting Margarito but then you see down the bottom that he's doing 35 thousand on his PPVs. Maybe you understand that its not a joke when Floyd says that no one knows who Margarito is. Its the ****in truth. Its a joke. Floyd sold way more against Zab then Cotto did. The big 4 of Pac, EM, MAB, & JMM are seen as 10x more popular then Floyd but they have super fights with eachother and pull ***** numbers. Come on now. I thought that no one knows Floyd and no one wants to see his boring ass. Ive been telling you guys that your living in the past. People still treat Floyd like its 6 years ago. The guy is 10x more popular then he was back then. Everyone knows this guy now, even before the Oscar fight. You have to aknowledge that this guy is way more popular then you give him credit for and way more popular then your favorite fighters. The more you hate on him, the more the casual fan loves him.

It's cuz Floyd is undefeated and Oscar was the biggest fighter that he didnt fight so thats why it sold so much + media coverage...it doesnt mean the majority care about floyd

Your hate of everything PBF is ridiculous. Nothing in that post said anything about anybody caring about PBF all it talked about was that people pay to watch him win or lose depending on if you are a fan or not. You take the topic to caring about PBF to fit your negative view of him come off the biased hate and just hate PBF because you hate him.

Depends on who Floyd fights. Oscar is the draw.

oscar is the draw. PLUS the huge hype by 24/7, even non boxing fans watch it out of curiousity plus they know hoya, they didnt know pbf. base from floyd's recent fights, i dont think he's gonna get nowhere near those ppv numbers again. he's popular, in a negative way. ppl might pay to watch him hoping he'd lose, not win.

can you deny the booing he got from his last fights?

You forgot another point, Floyd haters order the fights to see him lose. Kind of like how they create nonsense threads for no other reason than to bash him.

On another note, the saddest thing about that all time PPV list is how many huge PPV's Tyson had and now he's "broke". Well he's broke for a rich person.

It's not a misconception. That's what I was addressing. Media coverage + and Oscar fight + Floyd being undefeated = the big deal.

Boxing must be on a decline if fighters have to talk **** to gain interest. a fan should be interested period.
