I only ask this question because when ever I see alltime p4p lists leonard is always rated higher even when boxing analysis talk about these two fighters they almost always rate leonard higher. I mean duran started out at feather weight and beat leonard at his best weight. It seems like they give more credit to leonard in winning the second fight, In which I thought leonard kinda used dirty tactics. As far as accomplishments he should be rated much higher than leonard even the there both alltime greats. Even though he was knocked out at middel weight by thomas hearns he won a suppermiddle weight against iran barkley who knocked out thomas hearns in there first fight. As far as accomplaments you could say he the p4p best fighter ever. Alot of people say sugar ray robinson is p4p number one but I think duran fought better competition through out his career, And I just think leonard was a little overrated.

Not really.. This list is according to The Ring Magazine's 80 best fighters of the last 80 years. Here are the first ten:
1. Sugar Ray Robinson
2. Henry Armstrong
3. Muhammad Ali
4. Joe Louis
5. Roberto Duran
6. Willie Pep
7. Harry Greb
8. Benny Leonard
9. Sugar Ray Leonard
10. Pernell Whitaker
Duran is ranked higher then Leonard. It really depends on personal opinion but I feel Duran was better then Leonard P4P

Leonard does deserve more credit just like Ali does when it comes to Frazier, Leonard beat Duran twice and created a persona on beating the bigger better fighters and he lived up to it thru-out his career, Duran may have started at lighweight and Leonard at Welter but Duran is the naturally larger fighter and was the bigger attraction when he beat Leonard the first time and lost the second time! As for overall greatness Duran record looks great but he lost fights to other greats so of course when he's compared to those same greats he''ll always be second to them!Last edited by MoneyINC; 06-21-2007, 09:35 PM.

Leonard was real good, but he beat Hearns at his own best weight and Hagler at a weight 13 lbs north. Duran gave Hagler a good fight some 30 lbs higher than his natural weight.
