    I completely agree, BK.

I know exactly what you mean.

I come from a wrestling background so I guess I have a different appreciation for it than most. I also have a family member that competes down south in missippi.

We both wrestled and I have rolled with him a few times. There is a great deal of skill.

Sure You can have success with limited skill and great athletic ability but the same is true of boxing i.e. JT.

The biggest appeal of UFC is that you know the top guys in a division will fight each other. Thats not the case with boxing.

I guess, like the ancients who invented the sport, we just dont understand the "sweet science"
That's also the appeal of Jerry Springer.

I appreciate that grappling involves skill - but it's **** entertainment.

UFC in the 90's had a good schtick.

Kung Fu vs. Ninjitsu is a potentially interesting matchup..

          Gracie changed it all.

          For the worse.

Wrestling and rolling around is horrible entertainment.

Also the UFC fans stick together! they are almost to the point of obssession.

the reason ufc is so popular is its a company run entity meaning no stars and mainly people pay for the UFC event not a specific superstar.

boxing people become biased and say who is the main event? oh its zab judah vs cotto? **** that im a mayweather fan ill never watch that ****.

its ridiculous to be honest boxing is so disorganized.

fans should support boxing regardless! the ufc became popular because of the internet they would do polls on espn, foxsports, msn etc and these ufc fanatics have no life so they voted all the fighters in the polls to win the polls and then the people said hey this ufc is popular 100 thousand people voted for chuck liddell as baddest man.

while in boxing you dont really have many BOXING FANS! more like FIGHTER FANS! if they see a boxer get exposure in a poll theyw ill say hey thats not my favorite fighter i wont vote for him.

even if chuck liddell isnt some of the ufc fans favorites they will still vote him.

while in boxing they wont even vote a guy even if he is exciting because they hate him or his fans, or thats not there fighter.

we need a community to stick together its ok to have favorite fighters but support boxing and boxers when ever available.

Support Pacquiao,Support Pavlik,Support cotto! and the exciting fighters doing this helps pave the way for technical fighters but right now we need to support exciting fighters non stop regardless because they get the casual fan to watch.

people dont wanna pay to see a stick and move much they want fighters to go in for the kill.

Sure, but it's the human suffering and pain that I refer to.

                Physical, mental, ect.

And I must say - Springer hit it's phenom peak off the brawls. Strictly.

In the late 90's they let the people just charge each other.

                Every show was like that..

                  Yeah, you defo do.

Because boxers just have this artistism and grace of movement which just reminds me of Sid.

I dont see that in MMA.

I say most people who watch this stuff figure they're going to see somebody get ****ed up.

They're going to see someone get hurt.

That is the appeal of UFC.
I agree with Add, sadly. There is a thrillkill base that don't know any better and we're gonna have to realize that they're gonna be a part of us weither we like it or not. It'll be a long hard road to have a larger credable fanbase, but we'll get there someday.

And that totally cool. Different strokes, different folks. All that the MMA community wants is the same respect credited to other athletes and everyone not to be afraid to ask any questions.
