Andre Dirrell is a talented fighter, and he did what he had to do to win.....I dont like fighters who run either, but he stuck to his gameplan really well, and outpointed Curtis....If he would have gave the fans what they wanted, he would have not won the fight....

It's the one way for a taller man to fight a hard hitter and guarantee you won't get hit. Stevens best weapon is the right cross aka straight right hand. He paws with the left like an early Lewis did for rangefinding purposes and then explodes on the target when within range. Gotta keep moving away and out of range of that punch for it to never land.

The sweet science is defined as hitting and not getting hit. That's what Dirrell did, so it goes in that category. I do appreciate a guy making the other guy miss on the inside more than I do on the outside, I do admit.

edit- PS- Curtis Stevens has a huge fist, it's like heavyweight sized

I'll only post more if you behave.

Dirrell did run, but it's also Steven's job to cut the ring off and stop him from running. He could of been a bit more agressive.

You make some good points, but like how Merchant said... it seemed more like Dirrell was focusing on not getting hit and hitting vs. hitting and not getting hit. The ref even stopped them for a second or two to tell them to fight.

I actually liked watching this fight. Not because of what was going on in the ring, but because it was funny to hear the commentators talking about what a terrible fight it was.
"The worst round I've ever seen" - Harold Letterman
Then lewis asks him "why are you giving him the round?" and Harold responds
"Cuz the other guy is doing less" BWAHAHAHAHAH

Ring generalship is something the judges look for, correct? I'm not saying it was an exciting fight, but if Stevens had cut off the ring off better, he could have forced Dirrell to fight his fight.

Whaaaat? So now you're blaming Stevens?
