FLoyd is human...he sees something in Margo and Cotto that get him a bit...nervous. If he is your hero, or your stepdad, I am sorry bout that...but that cape he has on his back, it's not real son. He can't fly. So get a new hero, your boy is done.
      Yeah ok...

yeah Floyds not my hero, hes just the best in the game.
I have alot of knowledge and can spot talent and skills in a fighter, which you apparently can't.
Fact is, I like Miguel, and I wish him the best.
That said, I think Floyd would beat him if they fought.
It goes no further than that.

        Floyd was NEVER ducking Cotto.
Floyd has been making bigger fights with better opponents since Cotto has become one of the top players at Welter.

          1) Mayweather offered Cotto a fight at 140 that Cotto /Arum turned down.

          2) Cotto's first fight at 147 was about six months ago.

          3) Mayweather offered Shane Mosley a fight last summer, and fought Oscar Delahoya this year. Two bigger money fights against guys who were perceived as more dangerous than Cotto.

          4) Cotto beat Zab Judah ONE week ago. A worse version of the Zab Judah that Mayweather beat a year ago.

          5) It is generally accepted that Arum /Cotto will pursue a fight with the winner of Margarito/Willliams next.

          6) Arum is always quick to claim that somebody is ducking his fighter (see Margarito/Mayweather), but he has not said anything about Mayweather.

Given the above, please explain your position that "Mayweather is ducking Cotto". I'm gonna need some help with that one. Thanks in advance.

No problem, just read slower this time so u can understand -

Granted you have a point it has been only over a week since the cotto judah fight but based on the feedback from PBF, he was not "impressed" with cotto's performance and it therefore wouldnt warrant a fight between him and cotto.

you are also right that cotto will face the winner or margarito and williams and if cotto should be victorious in the fight as well there shoud be no reason why pbf and cotto should not go down at msg june 08

so as i stated before mayweather would rather be the champ and greatest of all time by just saying he is and depriving the fight fans than rather proving it to us in the ring. Cotto is now coming into his prime and id rather see two guys go at in their prime than a younger fighter fighting a older shell of himself fighter just for the money

and for the record lets compare the records, cotto has beaten the common opponets with mayweather more decisively than pbf as well as the better n'dou and im not sayin cotto is gonna beat pbf just make the ****in fight for us the fans and stop pricin urself out of fights

and ps as for ur #1 comment if u want to believe anything a promoter or pbf says thats ur first mistake (how many times as pbf done a 180, with gatti, baldomir, etc) but if u wana play the game pbf pulled out of the margarito fight that was set up for august for what baldomir a man who u just discredit and talked down leading up to his fight with judah...cmon man just do the math for a sec

And I think he had more pure power as well.
Miguel doesnt have one punch KO power, he just conects alot and is very heavy handed.
I mean don't get me wrong, Castillo is a rugged bastard who is as strong as an ox, but Cotto at THIS weight is a monster. What does Castillo do (in terms of pure boxing) that Cotto can't do but better? I think Castillo gets away with a lot because of his ability to take a punch. I really feel like Cotto is the more talented boxer who can adapt to his opponents style more easily.

Castillo never did what Cotto has done right now (9 KO victims in 10 championship fights). Overall Cotto's punches are more destructive than the Castillo of 2000-2005. Cotto's opponents physically break underneath his punching power. I really haven't seen Castillo do that to his opponents so regularly. The left hook KO win over Corrales was special, but a bit sugar coated. Julio Diaz had no business being in the ring with castillo when they fought. The domination of Cesar Bazan was nice though.

I really just feel like Cotto is a bear right now. A skilled bear with a terrific left hook to the body.

Cotto's resume does not add up to Floyd's. Unless Cotto can bring Floyd big numbers then they'll never fight. I don't remember Floyd talking bad about Baldomir he just said Judah had a bad night. Floyd the same amount of $ to fight Baldomir as to fighting Margarito who doesn't have wins over 2 very popular fighters.

              • lol mayweather ducking cotto your funny tell me another 1
cotto is a pressure guy but cotto fights who his people tell him he doesn't stand up and say mayweather at all EVER!!!! hatton looks up to mayweather... the only people trying to fight mayweather now is SSM, Marg, Spinks, Clottey the rest are dictated by there people and have no minds of there own on who they fight

                • I see the solution for a Cotto/Mayweather fight.

Throw Arutro Gatti to the wolves again, let Cotto batter him in Atlantic City, and then make the fight with Mayweather.

                  • Thunder, you are remembering wrong.

Dude. What are you reading? There was NEVER a Margarito fight set up. PBF did not pull out of a Margarito fight because the fight was never done.

In fact, anybody on here will tell you that the big story last year was that PBF "turned down an $8MM offer" from Margarito.

No offense, but you just have your facts very wrong.

The only things I see castillo do better than Cotto is the up and down use of his jab, lead rights from the outside and cranium cracking right uppercuts. Cotto amazed me with his jab, both the speed and accurateness of it alongside the power behind it. His body work is far superior to El Terrible, Castillo's punches are a little more snappy but in no way shape or form as damaging or heavy as Miguel's.

I really think once Miguel is able to get back to orthodox fighters we will see him hit less and that left hook become more of a weapon upstairs as well as a gut checker. He does need a little work on defense and or not leaving that jab out there.
