    I need an education here.

    1) Mayweather offered Cotto a fight at 140 that Cotto /Arum turned down.

    2) Cotto's first fight at 147 was about six months ago.

    3) Mayweather offered Shane Mosley a fight last summer, and fought Oscar Delahoya this year. Two bigger money fights against guys who were perceived as more dangerous than Cotto.

    4) Cotto beat Zab Judah ONE week ago. A worse version of the Zab Judah that Mayweather beat a year ago.

    5) It is generally accepted that Arum /Cotto will pursue a fight with the winner of Margarito/Willliams next.

    6) Arum is always quick to claim that somebody is ducking his fighter (see Margarito/Mayweather), but he has not said anything about Mayweather.

Given the above, please explain your position that "Mayweather is ducking Cotto". I'm gonna need some help with that one. Thanks in advance.

the ignorance and ******ity of some of the posters on this forum are astounding.
People saying Floyd is ducking Cotto when Floyd was RETIRED before the Judah fight.
Its really sad how personal some people take Floyds sucess.

Cotto called him out 2 yrs ago...mentioned Floyd by name, and Floyd said "He is tooo green" We now knwo that means he wants OLD timers like DLH.

Makes NO difference...he was DUCKING Cotto B4 the JUDAH fight..the results of the Judah fight are irrelevant.
FLoyd is human...he sees something in Margo and Cotto that get him a bit...nervous. If he is your hero, or your stepdad, I am sorry bout that...but that cape he has on his back, it's not real son. He can't fly. So get a new hero, your boy is done.

          • Floyd should win . . .

While I am very excited to see what Cotto does next, I can only hope it's not a fight with PBF. Simply put, Cotto isn't ready for PBF and may never be. The biggest flaw that Cotto has is that when he steps in for a punch his defense is pretty wide open. That's why Zab was able to land a lot of effective shots early in the fight before the cut and the toll that Cotto was taking on his body forced him to stop throwing.

Zab is good, and sometimes great, but he isn't PBF. Cotto isn't necessarily an easy foe for PBF, but he would, in my opinion, win the fight. The reason Floyd doesn't entertain the idea of a fight with Cotto, in my mind, is first of all the money may not be there and second, even though he would most likely win the fight it wouldn't be the type of career defining fight that he needs in the mind of many boxing enthusiasts.

So, there it is, the combination of a subpar payday for the fight and a win that he most likely would not look great getting = no fight.

I'm sorry, sir. You are making quite a leap there.

I am saying that the CURRENT version of Floyd is a bigger and stronger version of the fighter that faced Castillo five years ago. An in-shape, lean Floyd now walks into the ring at 150.

Please forgive me...but is this something that you are dis*****g?
ah see, i didn't quite understand what you were saying there. the initial comment you made really didn't seem to have much to do with what i was saying to easy.

Cotto is bigger, stronger, and more skilled than Jose Luis Castillo. That is all.
              was what i said.

              So is Floyd.
is what you said. i guess i just took it as you calling floyd bigger and stronger than CASTILLO...not as you saying that floyd is bigger and stronger than he was when he fought castillo. the ambiguity threw me off. apologies.

to sum up, yes floyd is bigger and stronger now, but *obviously* he wouldn't be the stronger fighter against cotto. that's a moot point though as floyd doesn't need to rely on strength to win fights.

Mayweather was ducking Cotto while he was training for the Delahoya fight. Isn't it obvious?

                  Undoc,

Sorry, but...this is an abject lie. I'm going to have to ask you to prove it. Link, objective article, anything.

                  I'm prepared to prove otherwise.

Castillo has that whole head made of granite thing going for him though.
No way Castillo could brawl with the best of them and had more pure boxing skills than Cotto.
And I think he had more pure power as well.
Miguel doesnt have one punch KO power, he just conects alot and is very heavy handed.
