People point out how Hatton was hurt by Collazo and say that Baldomir hits harder, but Collazo is much faster and could land more against Hatton, he is a southpaw and southpaws have always been something of a lump of kryptonite to Ricky, and Collazo has the same number of knockouts as Baldomir despite having only half as many fights! Collazo hits harder than Baldomir...

collazo hurt hatton because hes a slick boxing, welterweight southpaw. he was faster than hatton and is a better welterweight than hatton. hatton was tired and was off balance when collazo kept peppering him. collazo rocked ricky because of his fast southpaw punches and ricky's fatigue.

Hatton looked like **** at 147 and has no buisiness being there, he should stick with 140 where he really is good. Baldomir is huge, has an iron head, and has a great workrate.

Hatton is hardly one to box...he did it against Urango slightly, but it wasnt much. Baldomir is much better than Urango.

Baldomir reminds me of Jake LaMotta in a way...

You've not seen many Hatton fights if you don't think he can box. And against Urango he won 8 of the first 9 rounds through clever boxing before running out of gas and spoiling (but still winning) the last three rounds.

Its true, hatton can box a bit, think Baldy has a real chance against him tho, and i dont buy all this ricky hatton is a different man when he weighs 7 pounds less, it makes no sense, he doesnt kill himself to make 147 or have to make any major sacrifices because he weights at least 168+ outside the ring anyways, he makes 147 with ease.

I think its a bad match up for Hatton, and in addition Baldomir is a naturally bigger fighter with a solid chin.
Baldomir by decision. I see a stoppage as a good possibility, but I feel a decision would be more likely for my pick.

I don't buy him being a different fighter at 147 either, I think he had a bad night against Collazo but he could come back and take an easier bout at 147 as a tune up like every ****er else does instead of going right up against a titleholder.

I think he discovered against Collazo that he wasn't invincible but I think he'll get that air of invincibility back if he were to take on Baldy.

And I don't get why people would pick Baldomir to stop Hatton, he has a 25% KO rate, and Collazo couldn't with his 50% KO rate. Doesn't make sense that the lesser puncher will have a magical ability to cause stoppages where others have failed. If anything Baldomir's destruction of Gatti only serves to diminish Mayweather's achievements in stopping him. Gatti has never been known for his iron whiskers.
