Floyd stood now and then with Baldomir for the first 5 or 6 rounds and still outclassed him. Floyd could see every Baldomir punch from miles away.

The Oscar fight was a disgrace even though people were cheering at the end. Dumbass.

as trained as floyd is and as much damage he takes in a fight, he could fight that many times in a year. old school fighters fought within weeks of their last fight all the time and they would also do it hurt, not saying do that but you get the picture. fighting that much while you are young, in good shape, and not war torn is very easy. these guys get paid too much to be hungry anymore. but it is possible for a fighter like floyd to fight at the very least 4 times a year. at the very least.............

Then your talking to most of boxing as a whole, not just Mayweather. Wladimir wasn't really touched in his last fight. So should he fight next week? Jermain Taylor the same. Every fighter has at least a month or 2 before another fight. That's not just Floyd.

1.-They were happy Floyd was retiring.
2.-They all thought that ODLH won.

i am talking about this era of boxing as a whole, but the topic of this matter was floyd. try not to divert the attention elsewhere. floyd is the topic. if he wants to be great, polish off everyone that is available, otherwise stop calling him great, because he isnt, he has more to prove to be great. he's gifted and extremely good, but not great. not yet, he still has to prove it. i'm not saying he can't but he aint done it yet, and i'm not discrediting his previous accomplishments because he has accomplished a good sum............

Most fighters don't fight that many times a year. And no I'm not saying he wouldn't have been able to fight DLH. When Floyd fought Baldomir in Nov, Margarito fought in December. I doubt Margarito would have fought in January or February. The Oscar fight was May 5th.

We can sit on here all night, but regardless of what anyone says I think Floyd Mayweather Jr is the best fighter of his time, and at least top 30 or top 40 of all time. And accomplished what many could not or can't do. Just because he made it look easy doesn't mean the other fighter wasn't good.

GREAT fighters SHOULD fight that many times a year. ESPECIALLY when called the P4P best. And while the fighters he's fought shouldn't be disrespected, everyone should be well aware that Hatton > Gatti and Margarito > Baldomir. And while it's arguable, I'd imagine that in boxing history, Casamayor > corrales. The best should fight the best. Not the pretty good, but the VERY BEST.

He really should've fought Margarito that summer, THE VERY SECOND he was offered it. There's no excuse. "An easy win against a legit 147 champ? AND he's overhyped, and will make me look good?
