cotto is an upgraded version of chavez, more power and stronger though, although both have poor defense cotto's is better, he dosent take 4 punches to land one like the overrated julio chavez

I hope your joking. A "upgraded" version of a All Time great? He may not take 4 but Chaves takes a 10x better punch. It says alot that he took 4 and never got hurt but Cotto gets hurt all the time on single shots

Are you kidding me? I agree with you about Cotto's power but Chavez had more of a skillset. Better footwork, he rolled with alot of shots to take the sting out of them, threw many more punches. He was the better fighter by a longshot in my opinion.

I always felt Chavez was a cab driver in disuise. He was overrated and Frankie Randall proved it as did Meldrick Taylor until he was robbed by the ref in that last 15 sec, of that fight.

Chavez's chin alone carried him through better fighters than Cotto could dream of. Cotto is good; Chavez was leagues better.

listen up moron, its a difference between an all time great fighter, a great fighter , a good fighter, a solid fighter, an average fighter, and a bum....chavez was a good fighter, not an all time great

and you wont get hurt when your fighting in mexico all the damn time vs guys who box PART TIME!..judah rocked cotto but he could rock chavez also

hearing chavez fans talk you would think chavez was superman and he wasnt, the guy is nothing more then a overblown yory boy campus you saw the de la hoya beating thats what happens when you fight a real fighter!

damn that's funny, meldrick taylor got robbed? in my book, if you get knocked down and can't respond that is the means to stop the fight, no matter how maney seconds are left in the fight. chavez's face look normal while taylor's looked like he'd been hit by a mack truck. and by the time he fought randall he had how maney fights, about 80. he was past his prime, and he rematched and won. chavez fought the best of his generation and came out on top, always gave a good fight for the fans. so stop bashing chavez, he's a living legend, go hate on someone else, give jcc his due credit

Cotto is much stronger, but Chavez strings his punches better IMO. Chavez had a much tougher beard, and overall was a better finisher. I do think Cotto has beter technique, IMO.
