Jesus! Mayweather > Oscar De La Hoya! If they were younger when the fight happened it would be even worse for Oscar. at 147 Floyd DOES HAVE KNOCKOUT power just like Oscar. He is the smaller man and he won. Oscar at his prime lost to tito, b hopp and who the hell is saying he was not at his prime? Why can't you accept Mayweather is simply better? Overall better, get it? If both the same size and in their natural weight Oscar would still had lost. And ffs stop saying Oscar draws or wins when he LOST. Oscar is a everyone's favorite and i'm sure all that money and popularity isnt hurting him with the refs. How the **** a guy can draw a fight landing FAR LESS than his opponent? Oscar could be a great fighter if his gas tank was bigger. But it has always been that way, remember tito? b hopp? now mayweather. he would do no different if he was younger because he DIDNT! One thing going for Oscar though is the quality of opposition, he has faced fearlessly about every big cat in the game. I rate him 455454x times over ppl like calzaghe and he is to be respected but he could never be complete without a gas tank (he never had).

"Floyd is alot more elusive than the past his prime Whitaker that faced DLH."
          id have to disagree
whenever oscar was able to muster a jab (one at a time) it was effective against mayweather
oscar had to throw combination against pernell and he was still a hard target to hit pernell could slip punches in bunches
floyd didnt do that all he did was lean back on the ropes leaning back as far as possible and go into a shell and counter after a oscar flury

u must be mistaken oscar in his prime didnt walk u down (like a slow plodder) throwing one punch at a time and then letting lose just when u are on the ropes

oscar in his prime against a slick fighter named pernell relied on his punch output (didnt land much) to pull the controversial dec
he didnt try walking down someone that wouldnt be there
          "
The way DLH fought Mayweather on 5/07, was actually better than how he would probably fought Mayweather lets say '96, '97
          "

uve got to be kidding me how do u figure fighting floyd a fighter with good d that shorter than oscar
it was somehow a good idea to be slow on ur feet no being able to use a jab consitenly and not use ur reach advantage

a younger oscar would have used his reach and height and higher punch output to pull a dec
im not saying oscar is great because he is not (oscar is good fighter not in srl duran chaves pernell league)or some nonstop punching machine but at welter floyd doesnt throw enough punches to get dec against a prime oscar

yeah im positive p4p floyd has always been the better fighter between the two

but i feel that in his prime oscar would have won because of his physical attributes that he can use over floyd at welter were floyd hasnt look brillant like he did at 140 and below

DLH never threw enough punches against slick cats to begin with. The popular opinion is, is that Mayweather seems to have fits w/ opponents who press him, DLH would not have pressed the action back then. Just like I said before, DLH would've been his same ole tentative self against slick cats

Floyd would beat him at 154 and below. Floyd beat him throwing 1 punch at at a time. Imagine Floyd with good hands. The Floyd of the late 90's with good hands and even more speed would definently beat Oscar.

Prime De La Hoya would defeat Floyd, I reckon.

a prime oscar had a more suspect chin. however he was faster in terms of hand and foot speed obviously. im going to go with the mayweather that beat corrales and put him against the oscar that beat chavez in their first encounter. im going to have to give it to oscar by a majority decision, and i dont see any knockdowns in this fight.
