Would Floyd Mayweather Defeat a Prime De La Hoya?

We recently saw a very close fight between Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya. Some people felt it should have been scored a draw, others thought DLH won. What would have happened if DLH had been in his prime, during his active years as a boxer? Would PBF have defeated DLH at his peak?

Yes at any weight class. More dominant at lower wcs however.

Seeing as how both shane mosley and pernell whitaker gave him the fights of his life, there is no reason to suggest floyd wouldnt do the same. DLH in his prime wouldnt be fighting at 154, he would be at 147, which makes it even worse for him. There is nothing to suggest that Floyd wouldnt beat him at a weight that suits him even better.

Floyd won against oscar in the last fight, but he barely beat Oscar. I had it 7-5 for Floyd. If floyd struggled with an older version of Oscar I doubt he could beat a younger version of him.

hell, a past-his-prime de la hoya damn near beat floyd. just imagine what the prime de la hoya would do. i dont think he would dominate, but he'd win a clear decision with the gameplan he had.

No i dont think he would have beaten a prime DLH. And if you ask PBF he might very well say the same.

LOL Oscar still has that effect. 24h past the fight "yeah mayweather won". 48h past: "i've reviewed the fight (lie) and it was a draw". today: "Oscar won!!! OMG KTFO!!!".
Actually the only fight Oscar lost in the "fans" minds was B hopp: "Oh wait, Oscar threw that fight, yeah he did. He was paid more that way"

I think the truth is Oscar is a good to great fighter. Mayweather is the best of his era. Came into Oscar's territory, beat the odds and the bigger man to the punch" fans went " what now we need hero! "

                    gotta love these smilies hehehehehe
