Hell, Zab knocked out Spinks, but Taylor couldn't do it. (I usually don't cross reference fights, but in this case I will as an example) So "power" is not particularly in favor of Cotto in this one...
I'll agree that I also think if a knockdown of Cotto is scored, it may be off a sneaky Zab uppercut. Those things come outta nowhere

He's taller, and has a little reach on him as well. That's bigger. Thicker isn't necessarily better, in boxing, though I'm sure you know that already.

Also, Judah is quicker than Cotto, and probably hits at least as hard. Southpaw, awkward style, big puncher, fast hands....all these things are going to give Cotto big problems early on. I like Cotto, and I know he has a solid chance at a win, but I think it's a year or two early in his career for this fight. He doesn't quite have the ring maturity to pull it off.

back to your original subject, I hope a few of you had time to watch Judah vs Corley on HBO tonight and maybe caught the Randall Bailey vs Ngoudjo fight on ESPN. Judah was coming off a 1 year layoff and wanting to prove himself an elite in this fight after his KO loss to Kostya. A similiar situation and mentality but not a very impressive win. As usual Zab looked very good in spots, clowned at times, lost rounds when he didnt have to and at points became very unfocused. Please take a few minutes to think about what might happen if this is how he performs against Cotto. I mentioned the Randall Bailey fight because(and first let me say I had him winning this not Ngoudjo) he looked very very sharp in the beginning of this fight, so good I figured after 3 rounds this would be a short night for a tough and promising Ngoudjo but Bailey faded and lost focus. Please remember how Cotto handled Bailey. Many on here are predicting a V for Zab, many by KO. My prediction is simple: Zab will get crushed, obliterated by round 7. Dont think I dont realize what Zab may be capable of but as mentioned before that line of thinking is filled with many many ifs. If Zab fights a perfect fight he has one chance and thats to catch and stop cotto early. If he doesnt come out with that strategy he will likely find himself partying at the Emeregency room in the early morning hours of June 10th. Good luck SoundTraveler you will need it, Cotto will not.

The funny thing is - Cotto isn't known for taking fighters deep into the later rounds, and everyone seems to think that is how he can beat Zab. Don't forget Zab has KO'd opponants late and early, he takes it when it comes and finishes them very well when he has them hurt. Cotto is in trouble, he is going to find himself out of range with those short arms and on the end of Zabs punches while this one lasts....

Does anyone remember the Mickey Ward fight. Cotto is a better version of Ward but just as slow and with a much weaker chin. Corley is a powder puff puncher but he could have knocked Cotto out if he was not so shocked about the fact he had him hurt. Judah is faster and hits much harder than Corley. I believe Zab knows this is his last chance at the top and will be well trained to go the distance if necessary. Cotto might do a Kostya but I don't think so. I think Zab is going to cut Cotto to pieces. I think Cotto's best chance to win is if Zab get's DQ'd for hitting him when he is down. In reference to Winky-Trinidad, this fight will not be like that as Winky has no power, Judah does. Just my opinion.

Well my friend, we see the fight completely opposite of each other! I think it will be Cotto who gets crushed by the 6th Round, and you say Zab gets crushed by the 7th, I can't wait for this fight tonight! Oh, by the way, you did see how drawn up and skinny Cotto looked at the weigh in didn't you? Does he always look so sickly before a fight? I was kind of wondering if Cotto need the emergency room right now!

Cotto can be Cotto and win this fight, based on what I've seen from both fighters.

For Zab to win, there are a lot of "ifs", and he'd have to have a perfect fight for every second of every round, and that simply isn't going to happen. Case closed, Cotto wins this fight.

Every fighter has a winning gameplan until they get hit, just like Paulie did until he got splattered all over the ring, just like Quintana did until he got crushed, just like Corley did with his one lucky shot, and so on. So let's stop looking at old Zab videoclips from back in the day when he was young and hungry, and let's be realistic. Zab won't win this fight. Maybe in his prime, not so now.

"But Zab will come in hungry to show that blah blah blah"

He wasn't hungry for Baldomir? He wasn't hungry for Mayweather, for knocking off the p4p king? He was only hungry for a few rounds, I guess?

                    Cotto wins, end of story.

Cotto is getting in the ring with the biggest puncher he has ever faced, and the most skilled fighter he has ever faced, and the fastest fighter he has ever faced. And a guy with a reach advantage of nearly half a foot!

Cotto has been getting ROCKED by fighters with MUCH less power, speed, and skill. Kostya hit Zab on the button with a bomb, was Zab out cold - no he wasn't. Does Cotto have the power that Kostya had? NOT EVEN CLOSE.
As Zab is boxing the ears off of Cotto tonight, you will understand that being a great fighter means having more than just a good body punch, and unfortunately for Cotto, that is his only real weapon. He is going to get tagged by Zabs' jab all night, and there isn't anything Cotto is going to be able to do about it. Cotto is in over his head, and THAT is the end of the story, because after the fight, you are going to hear Buffer say "And once again the NEW Welterweight Champion Zab SUUUUUPER JUUUUDAH!"
