Did Floyd Mayweather Win? Boxingscene Poll Says No.

Has anyone else noticed the results of the poll on the main page of boxingscene.com?

Only 40.8% of people think that Floyd Mayweather won the fight with Oscar De La Hoya, while 43% think DLH won. 16% think the fight was a draw.

One would have to conclude from this poll that it was not a decisive victory for Floyd Mayweather. If PBF cannot convincingly defeat a past prime De La Hoya, he certainly would have lost to a younger DLH. Does this indicate that PBF is overrated, and isn't really a top p4p fighter?

You do realize that people don't like Mayweather because of the things he says, right? Hate carries over into irrationality. Nobody on the planet really thinks Oscar won that fight other than the non-boxing fans that packed that arena on May 5.

I dont care who got the descision nor do I think De La Hoya cares. I dont care about Mayweather or any of his boasting, you just look in the ring and your like 'what is this guy.' hopefully he stays retired. crappy fight. Mayweather edged it 8-4 or -7-5 or 7-4-1 doesn't matter. What is this guy.

Hi I am floyd Mayweather everybody should aspire to be just like me, and rated on how much likeness they have to me because I am the best ever. Yet I have to rely on my opponents drawing power to make pay-per-view fights.

And the reason is because people are not intelligent, if people were intelligent they'd pay 200$ to watch me fight demarcus corley, they dont understand boxing. I AM BOXING.

If De La Hoya had won, boxing would have been saved from the downhill spiral it's been taking lately

The poll results are interesting, but I think they say more about what fans wanted to see rather than who won the fight.

To say Mayweather dominated the bout as some on here would like to say would be a step too far, but he won the fight by 7-5 or 8-4. i think most of the regular knowledgable posters would have a score as above.

the fact is, Oscar was gassed after 8 rounds, as per usual. If he could have fought the full 12 it would have been vvclose IMO.
