Witter could be but it looks like he went into hiding or something'
Have not heard about him in a while, maybe he is tied to the chair in a basement or something?

hatton has accomplished more in the last two years than calzaghe has in his entire career.

just about everyone else is still in the early stages of their career, too early to judge.

He's fighting Vivian Harris next, Hoping to confirm the date in the next couple of weeks, but it looks like 21st july.

        1. Calzaghe
        2. Hatton
        3. Witter

He successfully defended his WBC title in January by stopping Arturo Morua.

            For me its:

            Calzaghe
            Hatton
            Haye
            Maccarinelli
            Witter

Khan is a good prospect, no more at this stage.

Carl Froch will be up there soon as well.

Alex Arthur will be in that list by the end of the year when he is a world champion. Hopefully he wont be protected as much as others on that list, he wants to go after the big names.

Your probably right $in we are a bit thin on the ground, but its not exactly a golden era for American boxing either!

I mean yes you have some great fighters but only those below are worth mentioning IMO at the minute and many of those are on their last legs in the sport. So what happens next?

                No heavyweight worth mentioning.

                Floyd Mayweather
DLH (Although I dont see him fighting again)
                Mosely
                Judah
                Hopkins
                Tarver
                Wright
                Taylor
                Spinks

If we look at possible lb for lb here you probably are looking at five of those fighters as top ten entries (Mayweather, Wright, Hopkins, Mosely and Taylor), obviously DLH would be in there but I think he is finished.

You can argue that lb for lb Calzaghe and Hatton are in the top ten as well (Calzaghe around 5, Hatton 10th)

                Therefore what is your point?
The States has a population of 301 million, Britain has a population of 60 million so that's a ratio of 5:1.

You have arguably 5/6 fighters in the top 10, we have arguably 2 therefore we are no better or worse off than you are.

The only thing I will concede is that you do have the greatest fighter on the planet in Mayweather but the divide is not as big as you would like to make out!

Id have to say Calzaghe Hatton and Witter are the top 3

On paper Hatton, Due to the fact he beat Kostya (not in his prime)

My pick is Witter, Cause he fought Zab on short notice and Hatton dodged him for years!!!

You should watch that fight before giving him too many props. A total waste of everybody's time and arguably the worst fight that I've ever seen. Both fighters flat-out ******.
