Carlos Maussa, Louis Collazo (he got beat in that fight), Juan Urango, Jose Louis Castillo (who was more shot than RJJ x 10), Juan Lazcano!

One thing I do not get is why Hatton is rated so highly! He is an above average fighter and in the list of top 5 boxers from Britain I would rate him as follows:

    1. Joe Calzaghe
    2. David Haye
    3. Junior Witter
    4. Carl Froch (whatch this man takeover)
    5. Ricky Hatton
beating kostya tszyu is a better win than anything calzaghe or haye has.

kostya tszyu was a bit past prime but he was still 8 years younger than hopkins and 5 years younger than roy. he also had a lot more left than either.

yeah hopkins looked good against pavlik but people forget he lose TWICE to ****ing jermain taylor 2-3 fights earlier. roy jones got KTFO twice 4-5 years ago. even that roy was better than the roy joe just faced. kostya tszyu hadn't lost a fight since vince phillips. kostya heading into the hatton fight had just koed sharmba mitchell (top 3-4 at 140 still at the time)

beating kostya tszyu at the time is a better win than beating hopkins at this current stage of hopkins career.

is beating a 40 yr. old shot roy jones that much better than beating a shot jose luis castillo?

is beating an old chris eubank that much better than beating an old vince phillips or ray oliveira?

are wins over guys like reid , brewer , lacy , etc. that much better than beating guys like maussa , lazcano , urango?

castillo was 10 times more shot than jones? please...... don't embarass yourself. shot is shot. roy jones was shot 5 years ago.

the fact you're comparing one of hatton's TUNEUP fight (his showcase fight against a big name before he fought floyd) with one of the biggest fights of calzaghe's career is embarassing.

Joe Calzaghe cleaned out a full division. He unified his belts against two undefeated fighters.

Jeff Lacy at the time was big news and it was a big risk for Calzaghe to take. If he had lost that fight his career would have gone nowhere. Mikkel Kessler was 39-0 when he fought Calzaghe and had unfied two versions of the world title. Calzaghe again completley dominated.

What did Hatton do after Tsyzu? He unified against Carlos Maussa who is an absolute bum, he got lucky against Harris. Cotto and Mayweather were the other belt holders at the time, there is no doubt about it Hatton took the easiest route.

He hasn't beat anyone since Tsyzu, and did he really before that?

Mallinaggi in no more than a decent fighter but I wouldn't be suprised if he beat another (just above)average fighter in ricky Hatton on Saturday night.

      • Tsyzu is still a massive win. Hatton walked through some major bombs that night at took away Tsyzu's heart. A good win at any stage of the career.

Calzaghe accomplished more in terms of clearing out his division. He's also technically far more gifted than Hatton.

what was jeff lacy and mikkell kessler? what have they accomplished? they are no more than what paulie is now. ranked at the top of their division and hold a belt.

cleaned out a division? joe has been fighting since 1993 , a champion since 1997 , explain to me why it took him 'til 2006 to unify? sven ottke was champ and top dog at 168 for years......why no fight against him?

ricky hatton has fought in 2 division 140 and 147. he fought the king of 140 in kostya tszyu and the #1 p4p fighter in the world and #1 147 fighter in floyd mayweather jr.

you make fun of paulie but paulie is top 3-4 at 140 and a lot of people have him as the #1 140 guy in the world.

who did joe just fought? roy? the #1 175 guy in the world 5 years ago?

bernard? who was fighting at 175 because he lost his belt at 160? please.....
