This makes any fight at 147 a much tougher nights work which is why he'll only step up for a really big fight i.e Mayweather.
I thought boxing was about fighting the best. The best are not at 140. Name 5 major fights for Hatton at 140?

You are using body fat as an execuse for Hatton not fighting at 147.

              Different styles.

If Floyd has a bulldozer style where he was going to get tanked in the face round after round to be able to land his own punches, he would not have found the transition so easy. Because he is a master ring technician he pot-shots, doesnt necessarily hurt the bigger people with shots as much as he does at his ideal weight, but wins by being a superior counter-puncher and having the feet and reflexes to be able to stay out of trouble himself.

              That makes sense
Surely you realise that there is a logical antithesis to your argument. Yes Hatton balloons between fights, that may very likely be his natural non-fighting weight, when he pigs out all the time. Its most likely that when he retires, Hatton will turn into a fat ****. However, when he is in training, when he is working hard, he's burning weight off. His natural weight when in training is obviously quite a good deal lighter. That doesnt mean that he's draining himself.

Very few boxers, Mayweather included, currently consider boxing to be about fighting the best. Its about fighting for the most money, with the easiest possible fight. Thats what is spoiling boxing. Eventually though, you have to throw caution to the wind for a worthwhile purse or legacy fight. De La Hoya was worth the risk for Mayweather because he isnt the best opponent, but is worth the most to compensate for the danger of his power and extra weight. De La Hoya and Mayweather would both be worth the risk for Hatton because of the payday he'd get from fighting them and potential legacy building from a victory over them.

Basically, hattons enjoyable to watch and floyds not

Henry Armstrong won the World Welterweight title from Barney Ross. His next fight was against Lou Ambers for the World Lightweight title... Did Barney Ross "send Armstrong back to Lightweight"? No he did not. Why do we know this? Because Armstrong fought at Welterweight afterwards. Hatton's career is not yet over. He may well be going back up to Welterweight for his next fight after Castillo. He can make Jr Welter. He can make Welter. Who's to say he didn't drop down in weight for three fights before continuing campaigning at Welterweight?

yeah but in my opinion hatton is making too much out of a 7 pound difference from 140-147 when he weighs 168 plus outside the ring, it doesnt make sense, how can he tell us he feels so much more better at 140 than 147 when he can make 147 with ease? in terms of performance, how much difference is there between the hatton that fought collazo at 147 and the hatton that fought urango at 140?

How can 7 pounds make such a big difference to guy who can make 147 easily?

Weight is overrated, mayweather jumped from and 130-154 and still kicked ass, De La Hoya did the same, Roy jones jumped up several weights, these guys are moving up 30-40 pounds in weight and hatton is talking about how 7pounds is the difference between him being world class or not, it doesnt make sense.

Especially when he said he felt more powerful at 147, then changed his story after the fight.

It wouldn't have given him much of a psychological edge to say "I feel weaker at the new weight and I have less energy" would it?
