I think you're right about Briggs but the real question here is; which Sultan Ibragimov is gonna show up ? Will it be the tentative and fearful version which fought an equally tentative and fearful Austin or will it be the aggressive, energetic, and tactiful version which we have seen in the past?

If Ibragimov is tentative like he was with Austin then he will get KTFO very easily. If he comes in and fights a fast, aggressive, but smart fight then the advantage goes to him..

I think that we will see the aggressive and fast Ibragimov but I could be wrong...

Sultan isn't overweight for this fight, like he was with Austin. He weighed in at 221 - he's in excellent fighting shape, he won't disappoint us. I just hope he doesn't get caught with a full power shot from the slow but strong Shannon Briggs.

I think Briggs just cost himself this fight. I've never seen Sultan fight though. Chances are they both gas out early and somebody gets KO'ed before the championship rounds.

I would not be original to say that if Sultan can time Briggs's right hand and use the southpaw advantage coupled with higher workrate, I think he can take it.

Briggs looks like a bouncher I knew,

yeah the odds favoring sultan seems weird to me. it brings to mind the gatti/baldimer fight when the odds were hyped up by the jersy crowd.somethings up. someones going to make money here. i'm hopeing to be one of them. like i did on baldimer.

Pretty shoddy analysis if you ask me; Diego stick to the Mayweather threads.

                The two scenarios I see...

                1. Briggs is too much for Ibragimov and KO's him early....Or
                2. Briggs thinks he is too much for Ibragimov and gases out going for the KO and gets his ass KO'd in the mid or late rounds.

Isn't it sad that we're still talking about SHANNON FREAKIN BRIGGS? Geez where's Jameel McCline when u need 'em?

What a sad commentary on heavyweight boxing....Briggs has a belt, and the other 3 champs don't even have scheduled bouts

Boxing experts and sportswriters are actually about 50/50 on the outcome of this fight. I've heard that the 2 to 1 Las Vegas odds in favor of Ibragimov has something to do with Sultan being backed by a Russian billionaire.

??? Wlad's fighting Brewster on July 7, and the Maskaev vs. Peter fight is scheduled for 09/29.
