About 25lbs of that 50lbs is not needed though. I don't know why some fighters insist on doing this. Danny Williams was another one.

Briggs is going to be exhausted after round 1 again. I think hes even heavier than usual.

briggs strategy is going to be a 100% carbon copy of the fight with ibragimov. he's going to throw 5 punches a round and hope to load up on one shot with 273 pounds behind it. he figures the bigger he is the harder his punch will be and eventually he will land one. i still have briggs by KO but who knows

Briggs disadvantages is that Briggs will slow down too much if Briggs tries to out work himself.
You're right, Sultan has to be careful because Briggs is big and strong, and Shannon has a huge advantage in reach too. But Briggs doesn't have a good chin, and loses his aggressiveness when he's hit with heavy punches (like the 6'8'' 270 lb Whitaker in his fight with Ibragimov). Sultan punches hard. Unless Briggs takes him out with an early lucky punch, Sultan will KO Briggs.

I really like Sultan but man he let me down with his poor showing against that slug Austin.I just think Briggs is gonna land a the right punch or punches and Stop him for some reason.I would'nt mind seeing Sultan win but I would like to see Briggs fight someone like Valuev,Peter or either Kiltchko down the road.I just wanna see a guy thats can punch like Briggs fighting some bigger guys because it is exciting to watch **** like that.

I used to root for Sultan until that fight with Austin, Austin is a D Level fighter at best

I'm kind of dissappointed, but not surprised, that Briggs came in so heavy; I figured that with all the time he had to prepare for this fight, he'd come in at least alittle lighter and in better shape. I would even wager that Briggs has done little or no 'roadwork' in his preparation for this fight. Infact, he probably took the 'James Toney' approach to training..

As for Ibragimov, he looks to be in excellent shape and has even fought a 'tune-up' fight earlier this year. I think the keys to victory for Sultan are to fight a 'fast fight,' use alot of head movement and stay defensively sound, and most of all, punish Briggs' body like no other opponent of his has done....

IMO, if Ibragimov is able to weather Briggs' early storm and power shots, he will be able to wear him down, provided he throws alot of punches, and get the late round KO or decision....

Yeah Austin has **** power for a guy his size or any HW for that matter but he KD Sultan and everything.I have little doubt Sultan cloud win by outboxing Briggs and maybe even stopping him if he was on his A game but if he is flat and has'nt improved his footwork Briggs could very well KO him. It's a somewhat interesting fight to me....I may even order it.

the way i see it even a slow no heart briggs will reign over the clubfighter limited skills ibragimov.

i think briggs punch output will be even lower then when he fought liakhovich, if thats even possible. the question is, when sultan is doing all that punching he is going to open himself up to a loaded up briggs hook. will he be able to take that? once sultan tastes briggs power will he even try to get inside again? it could end up being a really boring fight
