If what the haters said were true Floyd would be the worst fighter of all time. His record would be like 10-30, cuz he'd lose to all those, plus Cotto, Shane, Barrera, Pacman, Morales, Casamayor, Freitas, Winky, Jermain, Clottey, etc, etc.

If by "not going to prepare the same way" you mean that he will spar with faster opponents and concentrate more on being ready for Floyd's style, then you may have a point, but each fighter has a very specific style, and it is VERY difficult to make extreme changes to it from one fight to another. In order to beat Floyd, an EXTREME altering of style would be needed from Clottey, and a few months of training will NOT give him that.
I'm glad you responded to my posts in a very mature manner, I'm gonna give karma to you. I think Clottey has a good chance, better than other welters out there, maybe because I like Clottey's style of fast hooks and keeps his hands up with good defense. Of course PBF has the upper hand cuz he's numero uno. Though I still think Clottey will prepare differently, I mean if you were a professional boxer, and you face some unknown bum, mentally you might think, I shouldn't train this hard for something this easy (a.k.a Overconfidence). Then when you are to challenge Floyd, you'll be like Oscar and prepare totally differently for the fight, though then again at the end, it didn't really help Oscar..he still lost.

both of you guys are correct, floyd wouldn't want any part of clottey. for more than one reason or another. the main issue would be that like nice guy said " no one knows him. " that would be the first predictable thing floyd would say along with a succession of other statements saying why he wouldn't fight him.

if they did fight i think that clottey could give mayweather a run for his money and i think that he could actually make a fight out of it.

and like one other guy said earlier, although i don't believe it to that extreme of an extent, but clottey does tend to get a little complacent as the fight goes on. at first you think he's taking a round off but then he continues with a lower output of punches after the 5th. i know he throws a lot of punches, but he also tapers off a little towards the end. but then again all the fights i've seen him in were pretty action packed, so in my book he's allowed to chill a bit, as long as it doesn't cost him the fight.

should they fight and should clottey actually do his homework on floyd and puts together a good fight plan, and then actually execute it, he could give floyd one hell of a fight. i'm not saying he can win, but out of any active fighter in and or around floyds weight(where ever he fights at) clottey has the better chance to get a win than anyone else i can think of, or just as good a chance as any capable fighter, but floyd is one tough nut to crack, the first person to put floyd in a real scrap will have the best chance of winning. castillo is the only one who came close to doing so, twice.

Floyd>Clottey. Clottey hasn't beat a contender. He beat Corrales. When he beats a real welterweight(Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Cintron, etc.) then he may deserve a shot.

For guys who dislike Floyd they sure do love to talk about him. Floyd considers himself retired, and they can't keep his name out their mouths.

Can we stop all these ****ing threads "this guy will beat floyd, floyd won't take the fight". people are so quick to jump on someone's **** and say he is going to beat floyd then floyd beats that person and you search for someone else. Clottey is one of my favs right now and think he could beat anyone in the division and would probably be a tough fight for floyd but some of you idiots on here saying he is faster than floyd and would ko floyd out of hate. What makes you losers say he would ko floyd? When was the last time floyd was ko'd?

This is so gay people can't have an opinion on Floyd losing without being called ignorant/haters.

I don't think it's about peoples opinion of Floyd losing it's more like they need to grab onto someone else everytime Floyd wins. How many times do we see after Floyd wins a fight a new thread stating a different fighter will be the one to take FLoyd down?
