But Fidel Castro is a communist and never allowed them to turn pro such a shame.

you guys need to watch that boxing documentary they showed on cuban boxing...these people are dirt poor but they train boxing at a super young age and alot of them are slick as hell too bad we never see them.

Yeah they very well could have the best boxers in the world, but that's kind of hard say when the amatuer and pro game are much different. Even then you know they would have at least few world champions and maybe some all-time greats.

I totally agree with you, when you watch the olympics the cubans win all th gold medals and the sooner castro dies the better of boxing will be for it.

First of all, why don't you learn English before you write Puerto Rican's off? I mean, seriously, even a 5th grader knows it's "would've" and not "would of."

          I guess you're not smarter than a 5th grader

I know boxing will be better for it. Castro is a big boxing fan you would think he would allow his athletes to compete against the best in the world. Plus there would be another great site to host boxing events. I was watching the Briggs/Savon fight and the crowd there was electric.

The same goes with Baseball. Cuba is always one of the best in International competition. Last year when they were in the World Baseball Classic they had a few guys that could play in the majors right now, but the sad thing is that they play in Cuba in obscruity and for low pay.

I used to love watching Mario Kindelan. He's by far my favourite maybe cause he stayed long at the top level but Cubans they have different fighters every year it seems like. Their talent pool is just so vast. You know how the Brazilians come up with new soccer stars all the time. Same goes for Cuba.
