Im saying even if you want to rip those guys, you could, but its all nitpick in reality because of the fact that we have seen them with A level competition time and again. We dont love them so much because they are black, we love them because they have proven how good they are against more than ONE decent champion. They have proven it against guys over and over again, people like consistency if you fight 2 bums in a row or 1 you take on a real competitor, you dont fight 25 bums and then get 1 decent fight then fight 10 more. Im exagerrating here but you get my idea.

Out of all the top fighters today, who has chosen their opponents more carefully than Hatton and Calzaghe?

Hey $in, there's another thread for you right there...

Nicolay Valuev and Shannon Briggs immediately come to mind. Witter has only fought one good opponent, and he lost that fight. M'Baye has a title without beating anyone good.

I said top fighters. Are any of those fighters even in the top 20 on anybodies list.

So Hatton's a top fighter, and Briggs isn't? Some people claim Briggs is a top heavyweight, and that Witter would defeat Hatton. Ring Magazine rates all of them in the top ten in their respective divisions. They all have titles except Valuev, who lost his when he faced his first mandatory.

I don't think Hatton is a highly skilled fighter like Jones, Calzaghe or Hopkins, although he has some boxing skills and is quick on his feet. I like him because he's an overachiever with lots of heart, courage and natural toughness. It's mainly because of his heart and toughness that he would beat anyone his own size.

Then why did you say he can beat anyone his own size, and mayweather?
