Kelly Pavlik - The Next Big Hype?
Collapse

im 25 myself, im in damn near as good a shape at 190 as i can be ( i played football in college at 215, i am a shade over 6'3. sometimes when i sauna and workout hard ill be down around 184-185. i guess its a question of how much that last 7 pounds will kill me coming off... ive never really tried to push it... my height would be a significant advantage at 178 but i dont want to fall flat on my face either.. its a tough call, hopefully my trainer will be able to give me a better idea when he sees more of me.
will i have to weigh in same-day in the ams? i guess i never even thought to ask

I was one of them, but I have to admit, I had to do some rush YouTube and Boxrec searches to make the decision to bet on Pavlik.Comment

the thing about Pavlik is he has zero good wins unlike the Guinn's and Mesi's who all had at least one good win before they were reduced to rubbleComment

De La Hoyas success hinged around him being good looking, and very well spoken. He apeared "sensitive" and drew a huge female fan base. I think Pavlik has the ability to perhaps become more popular with fight fans then De la Hoya, but never with the general public.Comment

Kelly Pavlik has the goods
Overhyped? To my mind the fighter overhyped is Taylor. He didn't win against Hopkins, Wright, and his win over Spinks was lackluster. Pavlik has the power, yes he lost to Taylor as an amateur, but it was his first year as a senior amateur, Taylor had an enormous experience advantage, also don't confuse the pitty patty amateur bouts with what is going to happen in September, the tiger is going to be let loose and his name is not Taylor.Comment

The thing about pavlik is that he is an excellent boxer, but he gets hit way too much in his professional career.Comment
