Do you think Corrales cheated in the Castillo fight?

did he cheat? yes.
should the ref have stopped it? stopped what? stopped the fight and DQ corrales, stop the fight to give castillo the win, stopped corrales from spitting out the mouthpiece but how? stop what?
yes, diego corrales did cheat. spitting out the mouthpiece is a smart move but its also a ***** move. this is why i think arturo gatti had more heart than diego corrales: gatti never spit out his mouthpiece to get a breather.Comment

you havent a clue what you're on about.Spitting out your mouthpiece doesnt mean you got KO'd @ all and a bad rule...thats why its not.
Hatton.Tzsyu was alot more going on w/Hatton than low blows bruvah. Elbows, holding and hitting, head butts etc by Hatton. Now that cheating and DQ worthy.
I brought it up cuz its cheating...spitting a nouthpiece really isnt. You do it you pay on the scorecards.Comment

Pretty much my exact words at the time.As for spitting out the mouthpiece, the rules of boxing are that if you are not on your feet and ready to resume from a knockdown by the count of ten then you are counted out and considered knocked out. If you spit out your mouthpiece deliberately to get another few seconds rest then you are not ready to continue at the count of ten and should therefore be considered knocked out. There is madness to my method...Comment

WOuld Castillo have stopped Corrales if he didnt spit it out then? The second fight probs tells us who was the better man.Comment

No it is not cheating to take a knee, it counts as a knockdown and you are given a mandatory eight count and a maximum of a ten count to be ready to fight again. If you are knocked down, stand up and then fall down again before action is resumed then the count is continued until you are up or until you are counted out. So if you were knocked out, stood up and then took a knee after the mandatory 8 count you would have two seconds to get back up or your out. SO taking a knee is not the same thing as spitting out a mouthpiece and even if it was, the fighter would still be counted out.is it cheating if you take a knee to avoid more punishment? it's the exact same thing.
That's absolutely irrelevent. If I was a soccer player and I had the chance to score a winning goal in the World Cup but only if I use my hands I may be tempted to do it, but even if I did and got away with it, it wouldn't stop it from being cheating. You don't have to have "been there" to understand it. Many boxers have been in that situation and haven't spat out their mouthpieces to get an extra break.i don't call that cheating, not in the same light as you guys are implementing. had anyone one of you guys yelling "cheat!" ever been in any kind of situation like what Chico was in? having fought 9 1/2 rounds in an all out war, being completely exhausted and getting dropped by a world class left hook?
That's also not relevent. Adolf Hitler is dead, does that mean that his behaviour is beyond reproach?and shame for those who try and talk ill about the deadComment

It wasn't good enough for Castillo when he got stopped moments later after expending all his energy in trying to finish Chico off. Don't forget that there were two fighters in the ring on that night and the two long counts that Diego got due to spitting out his mouthpiece was the difference between a sensational knockout win for Castillo and an unlikely comeback for Corrales.Comment
