          Your prolbably screwed bro.

Your not old enough to get a license yourslef, a guardian needs to sign it.

On the license it says **** like, I understand that boxing may result in death or permanent damage and agree to blah blah blah.

Dont sound like your parents would sign it after reading that.

you dont strike me as a fighter, but i dunno. Yiu should find a way to give it a try.

Ive boxed, it is dangerous no matter what weight the gloves are. I got a serious concussion after an ass-beating in the gym before I was ready and couldnt concentrate in class(College, University of Maryland) for 2 months. Very good gyms will minimize the damage you take over your amateur career but most are bad. There ARE KO's in Amateur, keep that in mind.

I love both doing and watching boxing, but unless you want to go pro I wouldnt even start Amateurs, particularly because you need every brain cell you can get to survive in the academic and business world. There are some aberrations who can box and still complete school, just like those who can do drugs and alcohol and do well in school. Its a risk to hope you fit that minority though.

Do you come from a pretty wealthy family? Because there comment about the sport not being high class seems ignorant. I know a lot of boxers come from rough lives and bad situations, but that doesn't mean that everybody in the sport is poor and uneducated. It seems like your trying to educate your parents about the sport which is good. If it's really what you want to do you have to go for it and if your parents truely care about you they will let you pursuit it. Like others have said it's probably good that you train for a while before you start having matches. Good Luck I hope it works out for you, we need more young athletes now a days turning to boxing.
im about middle / wealthy class. i do agree about their comment being igorant, but my mom always looks down on boxers and think their nothing and wont do much in life. she has absoluetly no respect for ali and think that he doesnt do anything in life and fighting is all he knows. she says stuff about him when she doesnt know what he does outside of boxing and how he has inspired a lot of people. in the meantime if my parents dont let me fight, ill be training till im 18, then ill start there.

I plan to start soon too. I turn 17 in June. I work out a lot now. I'm still trying to find a gym nearby. All the good damn gyms in NY are in Brooklyn, the Bronx, or the city. I will find one though. I'm ready for whatever even though some think cuz of my small frame that I'll quit after I take a few good punches.

                    im posing.

thats like seeing a fighter pose with the number 1 raised with his fingers and telling him he needs to close his fists or his punches wont do damgage.

Im posing, not squaring up with the girl holding the camera.

im doing well in the ams so dont worry bouts me. Im probably 10x the boxer you ever were if you boxed, or ever could be if you dont box.
