The only way you could possibly blame this on Mayweather is to say he was in too much of a rush to get to DLH, which has been his plan since he was at 130. But we all see how that worked out for him. He asked for the Hatton fight and was turned down, so he moved on. Why should he wait around 140 when Hatton wanted another year or more before fighting him? Its always funny to me how Hatton never talks about fighting Floyd until their in different divisions. The bottom line is that Hatton or his people turned down the fight. How could you really blame anyone else besides Team Hatton?

I think Hatton should petition for a fight with Mayweather after Castillo. He should try to get the fight at 140 but if not fight him anyway at 147. If Mayweather turns it down, than we will all be clear about who's avoiding who.

If Hatton beat PBF, would the Hatton haters begin to respect him? Or would they make some excuses? (i.e., say Floyd was sick or past his prime)
you guys have to understand that ricky hatton is another de la hoya..a media creation not elite enough to beat a true elite. hatton's and HBO's gameplan was to have hatton beat some stiffs in impressive fashion to buiild up a gatti match. HBO had no intention of putting hatton in the ring with Floyd who would seriously end hatton's career who has never sustained an intensive beating.

HBO wanted hatton's skin color to sell fights, and wanted to keep the paler far away from floyd. HBO still plans on putting hatton in the ring vs gatti if they both get by their repsective opponents HBO will try and force a gati vs hatton ppv match which will not sell due to both being subpar athletes and combatants.

            Wow! Are you Jim Lampley?

Ray Hatton said that Hatton wasn't ready for Mayweather before the Tszyu fight. After the Maussa fight would have been the logical time to make a Mayweather fight but it was never made, and that was not just the fault of the Hatton camp. It's also worth pointing out that at the time Hatton was mentioning a tune up fight in the US to prepare for fighting the Pound for Pound number one fighter in the world, the Pound for Pound number one fighter in the world was having a tune-up fight against Henry Bruselles to prepapre to fight Arturo Gatti!

As i say PBF needs to fight Europes best otherwise he cant call himself the worlds best even though every1 says he is. All the top Americans did it. Wot is different about PBF that he dont have to? Marvellous boxed alan minter. SRL beat Dave boy Green. Duran v Buchanan. Even Joe stay at home calzaghe has boxed some Americans.
Box 1 english guy PBF and then you would have travelled full circle. Dont talk about Hatton needing a warm up at 147. Name the date the weight and the venue and Hatton will turn up there.

It's up to Hatton to make people want this fight and in order for people to want it, he needs to showcase himself in the way he did against Tsyzu.
Yor calling Hatton boaring and not exciting, have you seen any of Folyds fights? I don't think half the majority of the arena has ever gottten up and left during one of Hattons fights the way they did when Floyd fought Baldomir. All of Floyds fights are boring as hell. I blame both of them, but they could put al that to rest if they were to fight now, but it will never happen because Floyd wont ever fight him.

He wont fight hatton or any of the other elite competition now. He's more interested in money than his legacy. He'll never make the type of money Oscar brings but he can still make good money and excitin matchups against other fighters but he wont fight again. I don't think he will fight again unless it against Oscar so he can get another big payday.

how do you people know who ducked who? were you in on the negotiations? alot of people on here seem to have a lot of inside knowledge about promoters dealings. Press is 75% BS and full of half truths and conjecture.
