The n word comes from the old Greek word "niger" meaning dark. The word became a racial slur when the spelling changed and it took on a condescending, derogatory meaning. Similarly, the word "limey" had innocent enough beginnings, but came into later use as a derogatory and insulting term.

I think some PBF fans should give hatton a bit of credit. Because should Hatton and PBF box one day and a miracle happens that Hatton beats PBF, how bad would that make PBF look?Comment

The reason I think Hatton's chances are worse is that PBF has had a chance to fill into the higher weight. The higher weight for PBF is very unnatural to him so his being able to acclimate to it slowly has IMO closed the strength gap between the two. Secondly, Hatton has a fighting style and lifestyle that lends itself to burning out quicker than someone with PBF fighting and lifestyle.
Secondly, PBF has put himself in a position with more big money options. PBF can fight Mosley, Trinidad, rematch DLH, fight Corey Spinks (if he wins), Cotto , Williams or Margarito (depends on winner) or even rematch Judah if he beats Cotto.
Hatton has lost negotiation leverage since his only big money fights at jrWW is probably Witter. No other big names there. So Hatton will probably have to come see PBF at WW where PBF has been fighting at for a few fights now. Even in the DLH fight PBF was basically a WW.
Of Course I think Hatton would chose PBF since he is the biggest Risk/Reward fighter out there right now.
Would Hatton have a very good chance of beating PBF if PBF fought Hatton the way he did DLH. Yeah, very good but I dont think PBF would use that game plan against someone like Hatton.Comment

No, I didn't. I meant 42-0, Ring Champ, nice guy who doesn't boast or trash other boxers. But come to think of it, I can't think of a single white American boxer that's any good, except maybe Kelly Pavlik (we'll see on Saturday). There's lots of excellent Black boxers (i.e.,Wright, Jones, Brewster, Hopkins) and top notch Latin American boxers (i.e., Diaz, Arrolea) in the US, but white American men seem to be chicken**** in the ring.
Maybe that's why $iN hates Calzaghe and Hatton so much.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 05-15-2007, 06:14 PM.Comment
