Exactly. Hatton isn't the kind of boxer that would give Floyd trouble. He could try to pressure him, but others have tried and it didn't work. Plus Hatton has nowhere near the hand and footspeed that PBF has. Hatton is a good fighter, but Floyd is just better.

Well Hattons trainer billy graham only want s hatton to have castillo and then PBF if possible. I think if Hatton has lost his ability to get really fit he could have more trouble than he would have done against PBF.

Unless it involves smothering him in bearhugs until Floyd can no longer breathe and consequently passes out....Hatton has no chance.

Hatton trying to land a punch on Floyd is like Stevie Wonder trying to replicate the Mona Lisa....it's just not going to happen.

Having said that Hatton is also extremely good at finding a way to win.

Put it this way: De La Hoya's gameplan against Mayweather was to crowd and make things uncomfortable. But Oscar doesn't normally fight that fight. He was fighting out of his style against the best boxer in the world. Hatton's natural style is the one De La Hoya tried to emulate. I think Hatton has the best chance against Floyd of the current fighters around his weight because of his style and heart. He has the attributes to do it.

Hatton would be worth a gamble, but Floyd would be favourite.
I think your right IF PBF fought the same way against Hatton as he did against DLH. If PBF goes to the ropes and tries to let Hatton throw himself out then Hatton is gonna Tee off on PBF.

That is Hattons back yard. Hatton would be happy to have PBF on the ropes side step and get the angle for his left hook and bomb away. But PBF is a very smart fighter with multiple styles and great adaptability so I dont think he would use this style. PBF would be the biggest fight Hatton has ever had and he will definitely be in top form. I dont think PBF will expect or count on Hatton punching himself out or even tiring. I believe PBF would be MUCH more conscious and weary of the ropes against Hatton and avoid it better than he did against DLH.

His biggest challenge was Jose Luis Castillo, who is a good boxer but not a great one, and who can provide relentless pressure. Hatton is slightly less accomplished as a boxer but far stronger and more powerful, and faster on his feet.

PBF needs to box Hatton. All boxing is nowadays is a lot of talk. We need this fight to happen in 2007, but more likely 2008.
ANd if Hatton aint the one to beat PBF who is? Do people think a boxing specialist is the one to beat PBF who looks pretty throwing punches? Hatton is exactly the type who has a chance. If it aint p4p rated boxers who are highly rated who have a chance then who is it then?

Castillo is more technically polished than Ricky, but Ricky does have some special effects on the offense like doubling the hooks fast and switching, some insane stamina, some great strength, and his great asset - side-stepping. He has better balance and agility than Castillo.

Hatton's fast footwork and sidestepping is very underrated. I think that PBF would underrate Hatton which would work to Rick's advantage.
