As a member of the HOF voting panel, I thought I'd chime in.

I certainly hope to see Chico in the Hall one day, but not first ballot and not because of his tragic end. There have been other great fighters who ended even more tragically and had superior competition and wins. Davey Moore (featherweight version) and Benny Paret come to mind.

You people are beyond pathetic. Sit back and continue inhaling the smell of your own farts. Internet petitions do not work.

Being a member of the voting panel ,I would think you would know the hall founded in 1990 and they died in the sixties. I smell BS.

Sad to see only 78 signatures keep bumping this thread if you signed it.

I was always a firm believer that Chico would get in regardless of any such petition. He holds wins over top pound for pound fighters like Acelino Freitas, Joel Casamayor, and Jose Luis Castillo. He has beaten tough fighters, champions, and former champions like Angel Manfredy, Smoke Gainer, and Roberto Garcia. His only career losses came against Castillo, Casamayor, Mayweather, and Clottery (far north of where he was at his best).

Simply put, I sign this as a show of support for Chico, but in terms of getting in? I've never had a doubt.

Getting in this year is a long shot but it is a given they should diticate the ceremony to him as well. I sent the same two options to The World Boxing Hall of Fame as well. I can name at least five modern category fighters Chico has a much better resume than, and am shocked at the people who think the halls standards are what to be and he shouldn't get in.
