I just saw the news on a boxing news site. I actually feel physically sick. Chico was not only one hell of a fighter, but also certainly seemed to be a great person. One of the good guys of the sport regardless of what past troubles he may have had.

Chico was everything that was right about the sport of boxing. His was an example that all fighters should strive to follow. He will always be remembered and revered. Thank you for the memories Chico, and you'll always be our champion.

Despite the complete sadness that one has to feel over this loss, it is warming to see the impact which Diego made on the sport and its fans in his wake. It's a testament to the kind of fighter and person that he was, as well as the legacy that he leaves behind.
