I agree with the original poster. It looked like dlh blocked alot of floyd's jabs, and especially his left hooks. I don't remember more than one or two left hooks hitting anything but dlh's gloves/arms. And like dlh said after the fight it was close, and he did press the whole fight, and to beat the champion you have to beat him decisively, which floyd really didn't do. Thought it was a tie
just to be clear, I'm not a big fan of either of the two boxers
Funny how about 95% of all analysts, boxers, and commentators had the fight going to Floyd. Almost all of the fans who understand that throwing wild punches that don't hit **** doesn't win fights thought Floyd won too. People keep saying that Oscar was blocking a lot of punches and they're absolutely right, but why neglect the fact that Oscar didn't land ****? Oscar landed some good punches and won some rounds, but it was clear that he didn't win the fight.

I seriously thought Oscar was bringing back the amateur days when he would throw those inaccurate flurries. My family and I was watching and my brother made the remark he's throwing everything at him but I told him he wasn't even hitting him.
What's the point of throwing flurries like that when you only hit twice?
definately think Flody shaded it due to Oscar getting tired and landing
alot less than in the early rounds. it was basically Floyd-Zab again, with
Floyd adjusting his gameplan 4-5rds in.
Oscar had the right idea throwing the wild flurries. He was trying to steal the fight ala Leonard/Hagler. His main problem was being so timid inbetween the flurries. He would just stand there and wait for Mayweather to do something. He should have been sticking the jab more in those cases.

sticking the zab and blocking the shots coming in, like he did early on
I completely disagree with the punch stats the 1st 8 rounds of the fight. I trying my hardest to look for Floyd's countershots and all i saw was Oscar picking off many of Floyd's punches from rounds 1 thru 8. Neither fighter really landed solid shots up until that point, but Oscar was the aggressor and landed some body shots along the ropes .so you have to give him some of those close rounds. Floyd was not counterpunching as well as some think. Remember im just talking about the 1st 8 rounds.
I thought Oscar won rounds 2 ,3 ,4 ,6 ,8 with rounds 9 and 12 a tossup
Floyd - Rounds - 1 ,5 ,10 ,11 with rounds 9 and 12 a tossup
What Floyd did in rounds 10 and 11 ,that was not happening from round 1 thru 8. Oscar was picking off a lot of his punches, and Floyd also was not as aggressive those eariler rounds. Oscar wins this fight with ease had he jabbed more in rounds 9 ,10 ,11. Even if it was just 2 of those rounds, and he wins a decision.
good posts! i score it 115-113
