He was looking for one big punch just like Corrales. Those short furies he threw were just to make the judges think he was working more than he was.

That is very true, Freddy shouldnt have had to yell, but if Oscar wasnt listening, it was his job to try to find a way to get through to him the importance of using his jab.

        IMO:
        - Oscar punched himself out after 7 rounds, was aware that slow punches would simply be countered, so he opted to cover up and walk him down, rather than throw and be exposed....survival mode
        - Oscar proved that he has a great chin, but is in essence a one handed fighter
        - His size, strength and chin were the reasons he wasn't stopped in the later rounds
        - The rematch would be almost identical

I agree with the first and last points.

To the people who say Oscar should have jabbed more ... it did work when he threw it, but that doesn't mean it would have worked as consistently if he threw it more. He threw it when appropriate, but Floyd didn't give him many opportunities to work it.

I don't know why Oscar gets tired late in fights, but if he could have figured it out during camp, he would have had a chance of winning the fight. But that's one of the reasons why Floyd is so great. He conditions himself 7 days a week, all year round, and never ever gets tired

You're willing to pay for a rematch? Of course that just means more money for odlh, win or lose. odlh is past his prime their is no sense for pbf to offer him a rematch, and I don't want to see odlh fight again either, he already stole my money. If pbf wants to go out with a ****, he could either retire right now or fight mosley.

If Floyd Sr was in his corner he would have been right in Oscar's face telling him to use his ****ing jab.

Once he stopped using his jab...he lost.
That's exactly what I was screaming to my family friends and the TV. All that was going to threw my head was Floyd Sr's voice against Mayorga "Use your ****ing jab". Floyd's eye was swoolen and closing up, imagine if Oscar would have kept drilling that jab.

                if oscar steped up
                floyd would have steped up
                end of story

                if oscar threw more punches
he would have been even more
gassed and he would have gotten
                beat up even worst

In other words Floyd will never take a fight to anyone.

I never thought I would see the day when I thinking that Oscar wasn't jabbing well. Hopkins was standing up yelling at the corner, telling them to tell Oscar to jab.

my biggest complaint about Oscar, besides not being in condition to go 12 rounds, was that his footwork was lousy. He stood flat footed and walked straight into Floyd. Floyd moves very well, so it's hard to cut off the ring with him, but I didn't like that Oscar was flat on his feet, and didn't move side to side at all when throwing his jab.
